Hello Oregon Theatre Friends!

We're excited to share that the AACT - American Association of Community Theatre is organizing a statewide Zoom gathering for Oregon theatre companies—a chance for us to connect, share, and grow together.

This informal conversation will center around AACTFest, opportunities within AACT, and ways we can strengthen participation and collaboration across our vibrant Oregon theatre community. More importantly, it’s an opportunity to hear from all of you—your ideas, questions, and hopes for how we can build something even stronger together.

To make it as accessible as possible, they’ve created a quick poll to find a time that works for the most people. AACT is eager to deepen its connection with Oregon theatres, and this gathering is a meaningful first step toward that shared goal.

Whether you’re already an AACT and/or OCTA member or simply curious about getting involved, you are warmly invited to join the conversation. This is a space for everyone—established members and future members alike.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions, and we’ll follow up soon with meeting details once the time is set.

We're looking forward to connecting with everyone!

Please provide me with your availability (As Soon As Possible)

Our hearts are breaking with the news of Jon Douglas Rake's passing. Jon served as our AACT - American Association of Community Theatre regional representative, and was a huge supporter of OCTA and our mission. Our love goes out to his husband Jeff, and our extended theater family who knew and loved him. Jon will be sorely missed.

Pictured here is Jon with OCTA board members Danyelle Tinker and Dorinda Toner (along with Scot PJ MacDonald) at the AACT National Directors Conference in San Antonio last November.

A twist on the litterary classic, Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors is a bloodcurdlingly hilarious gothic horror romp.

Hello! Is this thing on?

We've been fairly quiet on Facebook for a while, but behind the scenes we are slowly working on building our board and finding helpful, sustainable ways to support community theaters in Oregon.

Our next board meeting is scheduled for Saturday, May 31st at 11:30am (via Google Meet). If you're interested in observing and learning more, send an email to [email protected] for a link.

We look forward to serving this wonderful community!

As the originator of our OCTA organization in 2010 I am so happy to see our page being used by so many theaters. We are committed to building OCTA membership. This is how we can maintain our website and continue to support the AACT Fest with our state one act festival with workshops and plays. We are planning a Management Conference in October. Please join us.
