A summer outdoor ministry (with winter office in Billings, Montana), Christikon is located up the Boulder River south of Big Timber, Montana. Programs are offered for youth (grades 5-12), including residential camps and backpacking camps in the surrounding Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness.

WOOHOO! What a campaign. The Spring Housing Boost has transformed Christikon in ways that will grow and improve the experience for campers all summer long and into future seasons! THANK YOU EVERYONE! As we've been singing at camp this spring, "We will get there, heaven knows how we will get there—we know we will!" Tents are up, lights are being installed, bunks cots and mattresses are moved to their locations—and that is only the upgrades due to this incredible campaign. Not to mention all the ways volunteers and staff have repaired, built, cleaned and improved spaces all over camp! We hope to see you up the Boulder soon, and we can take you on a tour of all the incredible work done so far! What a gift to us all to be stewards of this place. Fifteen days until summer! Christikon has already been changed and improved by this campaign—and we want to finish it strong. On June 22, we'll consider the final total of gifts to the Spring Housing Boost and put them toward what we can—maybe improved lighting, beds, or tent improvements. Every dollar helps and it all grows the experience of staying at Christikon! Cheers!

Yesterday the second canvas wall tent was set up in the meadow North of the Trails Building! During Work Weekend, two platforms were constructed to hold these tents up off the ground and provide a more comfortable, level, dry sleeping & meeting surface. Their front porch areas might just be in the top five most peaceful spots at camp—you'll have to see for yourself.
It will be fun and exciting to see how these are used this season! If you are coming to Christikon to backpack, you may have an opportunity to spend your first and last nights at camp in one. If you are coming for a family camp or adult retreat, you might have an opportunity to stay in one. If you are coming for an on-site program, you might get to meet in one! They need a few remaining tie-downs and grommet bolts for strength, but they are very close to ready for campers. All thanks to everyone who contributed to the Spring Housing Boost! Shout out to Alyssa Small, Kerry Ellertson, Anne Christ, and Will Sappington who all contributed to this special edition of our biannual publication—and thanks you YOU, our Christikon community, who all contribute in myriad ways and give so much to report and celebrate!
As this post goes live, our staff is climbing the Upsidedown Trail to First Meadow for a morning hot chocolate, coffee & stove training hike before breakfast. The sun/shadow line is crawling down Carbonate under a perfect blue sky. It's going to be a great season!

The Christikon Spring Housing Boost has already been an incredible success! THANK YOU! Much of what was raised has already been put to work and installed at camp. We bring this campaign to an end on the Summer Solstice in twenty days. There is still time to chip in! Barring some incredible last-minute giving, we may not check all the boxes on the list. Yet we are still so very excited for what has already been accomplished, and will continue to put dollars to good use in ways that improve the experience for campers, hikers, and guests!

Staff training begins in full today! We welcomed our seasonal staff up the Boulder last evening for a first meal of Tuna Noodle and Biscuits. They are truly an inspiring, diverse and talented team. Please consider including them in prayer as they prepare to welcome and lead our campers, hikers and guests this season. We begin training under cover of clouds and constant rain and mist—trickier for outdoor training, yet very welcome after a dry winter. Everything is turning green and the streams are boisterous!

What an amazing weekend! We accomplished SO. MANY. PROJECTS. HUGE shout out to everyone who chipped in—and that includes everyone who joined us this weekend, everyone who contributed from afar, and everyone who reached out to wish us good luck and included this work in prayer. It was amazing!
