For owner Sandra Panetta, a lifelong passion for food and Italian desserts grew from a small catering business, to a food truck, and eventually into Sweetbites right here in McLean. Today, the bakery is known for its handmade, small-batch treats and the strong relationships Sandra has built with customers throughout the community.
From family traditions to overcoming the challenges of the pandemic, Sandra’s story is one of passion, perseverance, and a love for the McLean community.

🏙️ Exciting changes are coming to Downtown McLean!
A new mixed-use redevelopment project has been approved for 1368 Beverly Road, at the corner of Beverly Road and Elm Street. Plans include a seven-story residential and retail building, along with wider sidewalks, new landscaping, bike infrastructure, outdoor gathering spaces, and other streetscape improvements designed to create a more walkable and connected downtown.
Construction is currently anticipated to begin in Summer 2027.
