Alliance President Jason Stanford was in Maryland on Friday to share the Alliance's strong support for HB 924. This legislation will create regional transportation authorities in Maryland similar to the The Northern Virginia Transportation Authority. The Authority has greatly benefited Northern Virginia - injecting billions of dollars into transportation projects across the region and leveraging billions more. Thank you Delegate Spiegel for your leadership and innovative approach to solving Maryland's transportation challenges.

Metro is critical to the economic competitiveness of the DC region. If we want the system to be successful in the long-term, we need a regional commission with the power to oversee Metro, hold it accountable, and provide mechanisms for it to operate as a sustainable entity. Thank you George Mason University's Center for Regional Analysis Director Terry Clower and Jonathan Aberman

Our region needs Metro. Metro is also in desperate need of financial restructuring and accountability. That too is a fact. What to do about this issue, however, is sadly obscured in opinions and too much postering.

Thank you to the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce and Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber for joining the Alliance in highlighting the extensive study and numerous benefits of the American Legion Bridge & I-270 project. This improvement clearly supports Governor Wes Moore's goals of equity, community engagement, and new transit and multimodal transportation infrastructure. It's time to move forward with Op Lanes Maryland.

After years of extensive study, planning, environmental mitigation and community input, it’s time to approve construction for this urgently needed improvement.
