Cub Scout Pack 406 McKinney SUMC

Cub Scout Pack 406 McKinney SUMC Cub Scout Pack 406 in McKinney Texas is chartered by Stonebridge United Methodist Church. The Cub Scout motto is “Do Your Best” and we all do.
(1)

We actively recruit boys and girls from Eddins Elementary and Bennett Elementary and surrounding areas. Cub Scout Pack 406 offers a year-round, family oriented program for children, both boys and girls, aged 5-11 (kindergarten-5th grade). Cub Scouting is fun! Scouts learn useful and fun skills like camping, using hand tools, and first aid skills. Scouts also serve others in the community through s

ervice projects. All of these activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting - citizenship training, character development, practical knowledge, and physical fitness while having fun! Cub Scouts are divided into dens according to age where they will work collectively and individually completing age appropriate adventures needed to earn rank:

Lion- Kindergarten age youth join a Lion den, where Scouts and their adult partner participate in meetings and outings while making memories together and working on the Lion badge. Tiger- First-grade youth join a Tiger den, where each Scout works with an adult partner on the requirements to earn the Tiger badge. Wolf - Second-grade youth graduate into a Wolf den. They go to weekly den meetings on their own, but their families still help them work on the requirements for the Wolf badge. Bear- Youth in the third grade are members of a Bear den. They also work with their families to do the requirements for the Bear badge, but Scouts this old have enough knowledge and skill to take on more of the work by themselves. Webelos- Youth in the fourth and fifth grades become Webelos Scouts. Webelos Scouts do more advanced activities to get ready to graduate into Boy Scouting. Where you begin in Cub Scouting depends on your age at the time you join. If you join when you’re in kindergarten, you will begin as a Lion. If you do not join until the third grade, you’ll begin as a Bear Cub Scout. You won’t have to go back and earn the Lion, Tiger, and Wolf badges.
