The Contemporary Education Foundation (COEDFO) was established in 2010 for the purpose of providing financial support to disadvantaged young women who are pursuing an education with the dream of becoming self sufficient, productive members of society. COEDFO was formed by a group of Turkish-Americans residing in Dallas, Texas area who have a common interest and share the common goal of helping you

ng Turkish and American women complete their education and achieve their individual goals in life. COEDFO is managed by a five member volunteer Board of Directors which, in addition to management duties, organize fund raising events. Funds are raised through various means including the following:
-event attendance fees
-membership fees
-donations
-sale of item acquired, made or donated by members and friends
-tea and dinner parties
-sale of made or donated items at local fairs. All funds raised are applied to financial aid to deserving young women. The Board of Directors and members pay all expenses. COEDFO seeks identification of young women that are in desperate need of financial aid in order to continue their education. With the assistance of Bahcelievler (a branch of CYDD), a Turkish organization, COEDFO was able to identify and provide support to ten young women since 2010. COEDFO also supports local organizations including Can! Currently, amounts available for financial aid distributions are limited. However, the Board has applied and received Tax-Exempt, Tax-Deductible status as a charitable non-profit organization under Internal Revenue Section 501(c)(3) which will open additional sources of revenue.

Today we are sad beyond imagination. We lost a very dear friend and founding Board member of COEDFO, Neriman Yüce.

Neriman was an amazing woman, strong, determined, a loving wife, a mother and a grandmother. She was full of grief loosing her son but continued smiling as she kept his memory alive!

We all will miss her dearly. Rest in Peace our dear friend. 💔🥲
