🎉 Congratulations to Jennifer Leigh! 🎉

We are thrilled to announce that Jennifer Leigh from Boyd High School has been selected by her students as the McKinney Gifted & Talented Alliance (MGTA) Secondary GT Teacher of the Month for October 2026!

Mrs. Leigh goes above and beyond for her students academically and personally—whether she is cheering them on at their extracurricular events, providing a welcoming space after school, or making humanities and AP classes engaging and fun.

Here is just a little bit of what her students had to say about her:

"She cares for each and every student... She knows what sports we play and makes an effort to show up to all of our events." — CH

"She has made an amazing impact on my freshman year with constant check-ins... If any GT teacher deserves this award it would be Mrs. Leigh!" — AD

"She made me love to read and taught me the power of a strong rhetoric while always genuinely caring about us not because it was her job but because she really cares." — NM

"She actually makes the class fun... this class is able to give enough time to complete my work with as well enough time to actually take time for my own hobbies..." — SP

Thank you, Mrs. Leigh, for your dedication, passion, and incredible impact on your students! 🍎✨
