You are going to cry. What follows is the latest project the Tekton Society is working on. I've shortened it, but it's got to tell the story.
Little over two years ago in Gonzales, LA during Hurricane Delta, Hannah Elliot and Don Towns met. Both were deployed for an ambulance service to provide relief efforts for the communities ravished by the Hurricane. In the midst of disaster, fell for each other. Both of whom are EMTs and dedicate their lives to serve their community and provide for their children. Hannah and her three kids soon left their Arkansas home to join Don and HÍS three kids in Anna. While the year started with the exciting news Hannah was pregnant, it would soon turn to heartache. This big, happy, blended family was about to endure seemingly unending sorrow. In June, Hannah was told by her now 8 year old daughter that her step-father, Jesse Foster of Paragould, Arkansas, sexually assaulted her when she was in his care and also sexually abused his 4 year old son. He was soon arrested, but he is now free on bond and is awaiting trial. Following this, while working as an EMT, Don got injured, thereby denying their household his much needed salary. On August 5th, Hannah and Don excitedly went to Hannah's OB appointment to check on the baby's status. Expecting to find a healthy heartbeat, there was none. Their baby boy had passed away at nearly 5 months gestation; approximately on Hannah’s birthday. On August 7th at 10:19am, Kayson Liam Towns was brought into this world sleeping. Hannah had complications with the birth and had to remain off work for an extended period of time. Now neither of them are able to work. So much heartbreak, so much pain and it still wasn't over. Hannah had more problems. The physical and emotional trauma continued as she was rushed to the hospital and underwent 2 surgeries. She was diagnosed with multiple blood clots in her lungs as well as a large (DVT) blood clot that started in her foot and wrapped all the way up her leg around her femoral artery. Hannah had to stay in the hospital for an extended period of time and still remains on blood thinners to this day. Hannah is no longer able to work on the ambulance crew due to her condition, but luckily was able to get a desk job through her EMS company to help make ends meet. Now, both of them are slowly integrating back to work. As you can imagine, they are buried in debt with the last of their savings being used for living expenses. They are barely
getting by trying to make ends meet. They need all the love and prayers they can get. Both Hannah and Don are two of the most selfless people who would give the shirt off off their backs to provide and care for others, even when they struggle to do so for themselves.
If you would like to help this family, message me directly and I will provide you information on how to connect with them.
Peace
B
