The Language of Birds
Presented by Nathan Pieplow

What if birds are telling you everything… and you just don’t know the language yet?

This month, Nathan Pieplow helps us listen differently.

From the quiet “pillow talk” of Red-winged Blackbirds to the food signals of Cliff Swallows, you’ll discover how bird sounds reveal identity, behavior, and even emotion.

You’ll never hear your backyard the same way again.

Help Protect Dinosaur Valley State Park

Dinosaur Valley State Park is more than tracks and hiking trails — it’s a living habitat for birds, too.

provides critical habitat for species like the Golden-cheeked Warbler and Black-capped Vireo, along with river and woodland birds such as Belted Kingfishers and Painted Buntings.

A proposal by Oncor would route major power transmission lines through the park — fragmenting habitat and permanently altering protected land meant for conservation and public enjoyment.

The Dinosaur Valley Alliance is working to stop this proposal and advocate for alternatives that protect this irreplaceable place.
