James 2:14-26 / NKJV

14 - What does it PROFIT, my brethren, if someone says he has FAITH but does not have WORKS? Can faith SAVE him?
15 - If a brother or sister is NAKED and DESTITUTE of daily FOOD,
16 - and one of you says to them, “Depart in PEACE, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the THINGS which are needed for the BODY, what does it PROFIT?

Are You Caught In Sexual Impurity?

As a Christian Counselor I see mainly Christians in my office. I have been asked a number of times what is the biggest problem with the clients I see. The number one issue I see is sexual problems. People seem to think that if they repent every so often, God will be merciful and forgive them and they then continue in their sin. They are right; God does forgive. Jesus spoke these words to the woman caught in the act of adultery, “Woman where are your accusers? Neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more”..John 8:10-11. Do you catch the last words...go and sin no more. Jesus expects us to live a holy and sanctified life with the help of the Holy Spirit. 1 Cor 6:9 says “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived, “Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals...will inherit the kingdom of God.” Paul declares to the Corinthians that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God. Paul is warning the Corinthian believers that if they willfully continue in sin they will face the same danger as the wicked.

When we were moving to Tennessee, we stopped and spent the night at a motel. We were leisurely having breakfast the next morning and were talking with two young women that were there for a Christian Convention. The Lord began to speak about these two women. He said that one had a Spirit of Lust and one had a Spirit of Insanity. I said, “Well Lord what am I supposed to do? I can’t just tell them that.” As I waited; they then began to ask us about our lives and what did we do for a living. When we commented we spent many years helping people get set free; they ironically said,” We would like that.” We went back to our room, and on the way the one with the Spirit of Lust said to me, “She is the one (as she gestured about her friend) who needs help and deliverance, and I am o.k.” I laughed inside; thinking you just think you are o.k. I ask her in the room if she had a boyfriend. She answered she was going with the Pastor’s son. When she was confronted with the word and the truth of what God had said, it hit her hard. She was very soon on the floor repenting of her sins, and determined to change. Are you today caught in sexual sins that you have tolerated and justified as normal? What you tolerate you will not change. You must hate what you tolerate! Pray this prayer if you want change and freedom in your life.

“Father, in the name of Jesus, I submit my soul, desires, emotions to your Spirit. I confess as sin all my sexual, ungodly acts. I have first sinned before you and ask that you forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Please uproot all the tentacles of sexual bo***ge and emotional ties and enslaving thoughts. I bind and resist any evil spirits that have enslaved me to these sins.

I receive your forgiveness and forgive myself. I commit myself totally to you. I ask that you keep my soul, body, and mind blameless until the coming of our Lord.

Childlike Faith

Ask for help. Children are not afraid to ask for help. They have no problem admitting that they are in over their heads. To children, a call for help is a proud expression of their dependency on those who love them. Adults, on the other hand, are anxious about calling for help. We are hesitant to admit we’re in trouble. Calling for help is humiliating; it’s an admission of need, an acknowledgment of weakness, and we don’t want to experience that kind of humiliation. It is hard to ask for help. Childlike faith is not for people who need a little help; it is for people who are desperate, who are at the end of their rope. Faith is for those who are not to proud to wave their arms and admit they are drowning.

Faith is not religious positive thinking. It’s not a motivational course, a pep talk, an exercise in positive self-imaging. Faith is for the helpless. It is a humiliation, out of which humility is birthed. We do not come to faith to find the extra punch we need to make it over the hill. We come to faith because we are exhausted, weakened, ready to give up. Faith is more than giving up, it is giving in.

If we want to experience a childlike faith, we must be more than willing to admit our helplessness.

Lord, I am helpless without you, and am so thankful that you tell me in your word that “I can do all things through Christ Who gives me strength”. If Your presence does not go with me today please do not send me from this place. Without Your help Holy Spirit I shall surely fail, ‘for there is a way that seems right to a man but the end of that way is death’, but ‘when a man’s ways please the Lord He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him’. May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be

acceptable in your sight oh Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. I thank You Lord that ‘I have been save by grace through faith, and it is not of myself that I could ever boast, it is a free gift from you God’. You in Your great wisdom sent Your only begotten Son to take upon Himself the sins of the world, and through what Jesus did ‘I have been made the righteousness of God in Christ’. You and You alone have declared me righteous, redeemed, and set free from the curse of the law. You have sent froth Your Word and saved me from all my unrighteousness, acts, thoughts, deeds, and destructions. Lord it is in You alone that I live, move and have my being.

Lord I call upon You to breath your anointing to build this CieAura business, for I know that ‘unless the Lord build the house, they labor in vain who build it; and unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain’. I want to glorify You in everything I do on this earth and unless I receive Your help, I shall surely fail. As You well know Father I have proceeded with this venture after much prayer fasting, and asking direction from You. And when I was about to reject CieAura I felt that ‘check’ in my heart. I ask unashamedly that You open the eyes of my heart in the knowledge of you; that I be not conformed to this world but that I may be transformed by the renewing of my mind, that I may know Your good, acceptable, and perfect will in every matter I undertake. I thank You that because I am one of your sheep, I hear Your voice. Deliver me from evil and the evil one. I ask for strength to not worship the work of my hands, but that the work of my hands will be an act of worship to You! I ask to walk in strength, and divine health today and that Your supernatural favor will go before me in every place I go. I thank you for Linda and ask that Your love be shed abroad from my heart toward her and everyone I come in contact with today. Jesus it is You in me, the hope of glory. AMEN

Fleas
I have witnessed to hundreds of people in prisons with this story. God cares about our everyday lives and the problems we encounter. There is nothing too small in our lives that God doesn't want to handle.

We had three indoor-outdoor cats. Even with flea collars; we managed to get fleas in our carpet. We had an off white carpet, which we found out later that fleas love light colors. I called and had an exterminator come out. The flea problem continued. We had prayed separately a few times I remember...but not with a lot of faith. The exterminator came out two more times; but to no avail. The fleas continued their mutiplication and we all had bites all over our ankles. There were fleas upstairs and downstairs. It was a horrible ordeal; and we believe these fleas were from hell! One day I was walking down the steps talking to God about these fleas and Larry at the same time was walking up the stairs. We both heard this at the same time and shouted it out. "God can get rid of the fleas". The Lord said, "I can get rid of the fleas". We called the family together and prayed for God to exterminate the fleas. He answered back; that he would march them out the door. To open the front door and the back, and He would tell us when to close them. Four hours later we closed the door and never saw another flea. We laughed at the picture in our minds of God as the General commanding the fleas to march out; and envisioning fleas in single file marching out; of course in full dress with one blowing the trumpet.

God desires an intimate relationship with us and wants us to consider Him in every part of our lives. We started praying about everything, and saw miracle after miracle. Phil 4:6 says that "We are to be anxious for nothing, and pray about everything with thanksgiving." What a faithful God we serve.
