We are thrilled to shine the spotlight on our founder, Samar Waqar, as the facilitator for the Autistic Hangouts program! Samar is a speaker, creative thinker, and community disruptor with a deep passion for neuroscience, inclusion, and leadership.
Dedicated to building bold, brain-aligned spaces, Samar works to ensure that neurodivergent people never have to shrink themselves to belong. She believes that vulnerability is a true strength and that powerful communities are built when people feel safe enough to be their authentic selves.
Whether she’s chasing big ideas, fueling her hyperfocus with caffeine, or embarking on an occasional existential side quest, Samar is committed to creating a world that makes room for different minds. We look forward to seeing you at the Autistic Hangouts!

For 25 years, Suzanne worked as a fiber artist, specializing in dyeing, weaving, felting, and soap making while living in a historic New England home. After moving to Texas, she began exploring traditional art mediums such as acrylics and watercolors, discovering a love for abstract and playful creations. More recently, she has embraced neurographic art, enjoying its creative freedom and meditative process. This summer, Suzanne is excited to share this simple, judgment-free art form at Autistic Hangouts and connect with others through creativity.

✨Meet our Art Facilitator✨
We're delighted to introduce Scout, the facilitator for our Autistic Hangouts Program.

Scout finds beauty in everything she touches from painting, pencils, body art, tattooing to her Dallas area murals. Her work is on display at the Bath House and Wright Art Twin Gallery.

Scout joins us from Philadelphia, PA after attending art college for education and graphic design. Scout teacher various art programs including Drawing and Still Life, summer camp and more.

Jump Into Art Studios, a welcoming McKinney art studio, is nestled inside The Honeymoon House — a historic home originally gifted to McKinney Art Club Founder Katherine Heard Craig. Our art studio has always served as a creative haven, continuing the tradition of being an artist's retreat for generations.

With cozy, sunlit rooms and a backyard perfect for inspiration, the space invites you to slow down and enjoy hands-on art experiences. And if you're lucky, JoJo, our working feline, might even join you for your session or greet you at the door, adding a touch of local charm.

Linda grew up with art and creativity as part of everyday life. As an artist and the founder of Linda Bonner Studios, she channels that creative spirit into art and workshops. She believes creativity is a tool for connection and joy. She’s a passionate advocate for creativity and connection.

Through Autistic Hangouts, Linda is dedicated to creating a welcoming space where autistic youth can connect, express themselves creatively, and build friendships. We look forward to the meaningful art, connections, and moments ahead. 💛

Jessie is a neurodiversity-affirming Speech-Language Pathologist with a deep commitment to inclusion, communication rights, and celebrating differences. Her personal connection to the neurodivergent community, combined with her professional expertise, guides her compassionate and person-centered approach.

Through Autistic Hangouts, Jessie is dedicated to creating a welcoming space where autistic youth can connect, be themselves, build friendships, and feel genuinely understood.

We look forward to the meaningful conversations, connections, and experiences ahead. 💛

We are so beyond excited to finally be getting our Autistic hangouts program off the ground. Getting everything together has been a total whirlwind, but honestly, we couldn’t have done any of this without our partners. This ones a shoutout to the team over at Bricks & Minifigs McKinney . They’ve been so incredibly generous with their bulk Lego donations, and it’s going to be such a huge part of what we do.

It means the world to us to have partners who get it and are helping us build this from the ground up. If you’re looking for a sign to stop by their shop, this is it, they’re good people doing good things.
