Habitat for Humanity - Collin County

Habitat for Humanity - Collin County Habitat Collin County brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. In 2018 we merged with South Collin County.

Habitat Collin County was incorporated in 1992 in McKinney, Texas, as McKinney Habitat for Humanity, Inc. Our name was changed in 2002 to North Collin County Habitat for Humanity to reflect our expanding service area. Our affiliate serves the communities of McKinney, Plano, Frisco, Melissa, Allen, Celina, Princeton, Prosper, Farmersville, Wylie, and Anna. Through partnerships with local government

entities, churches, corporations, individuals and service organizations, we have been able to complete 220 houses for deserving families since 1992. We also operate a 2 ReStores that sell new and used building materials to the public and takes donations of these materials for a tax-deductible receipt. For more information about volunteering, qualifying for a home or the ReStore, call 972-542-5300. Habitat for Humanity is an equal opportunity non-profit housing organization

πŸ₯³ Let's all wish a very Happy Birthday to Mitch McMillan, our fantastic Community Build Manager!

Whether he's coordinating the big details and directing the volunteers on build days, or handling the countless little details behind the scenes, Mitch helps make every build day a success. We truly couldn't do it without him.

Here's hoping your birthday is filled with great food, lots of laughs, and absolutely zero construction hours in the heat today.

Happy Birthday, Mitch! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‚

Beat the Heat. Feed the Mission. πŸ’§πŸ₯ͺ

The Texas summer heat is no joke. Our volunteers spend long days on build sites helping create safe, affordable homes for families in our community. To keep them healthy and energized, we provide water, sports drinks, and meals throughout each build day. And with a calendar filled with volunteer days in September (starting next Wednesday), the need is immediate.

You can help us Fuel Our Builders!

No gift is too small. A donation of any amount helps us keep volunteers hydrated, fed, and focused on the work that matters most -- building homes and hope for families in our community.

β˜€οΈ $10 helps provide drinks for volunteers

Early Giving for North Texas Giving Day starts THIS Thursday, August 27! πŸ’™πŸ

Every donation helps us build more than homes. It helps build hope, stability, and fresh starts for families in our community.

The reality of building affordable and workforce housing comes with significant costs. For our upcoming 6-plex townhome project, just a few of the expenses include:

πŸ”¨ Foundation (per unit): $20,000
πŸ”§ Plumbing: $13,820
⚑ Electrical: $11,775
πŸ“‹ Pre-construction permits: $16,725
πŸ—οΈ Framing & exterior work: $66,185
🧱 Insulation & drywall: $3,900

And that's only part of what's needed to bring these homes to life.

No gift is too small. Whether you help cover a permit, a portion of a foundation, or essential building materials, your donation moves us one step closer to providing affordable housing and creating new opportunities for local families.

Join us when Early Giving opens August 27 and help us build stronger communities, one home at a time.

We're sending a heartfelt thank you to The Home Depot Foundation for investing in local families and stronger communities. Their generous $6,000 gift will help provide essential supplies needed to complete the Lewis family's future home on Garcia Street.

Partnerships like this make homeownership possible for hardworking families in Collin County. Thank you, Home Depot Foundation, for standing with Habitat and helping us build more than houses - we're building hope.

We were joined by a great crew of volunteers from K. Hovnanian Homes DFW today who tackled some detail work both inside and outside the Lewis family home on Garcia St in McKinney. They filled spots with fire resistant foam, installed supports for ADA grab bars in the bathroom, and worked on roofline details. Many thanks to these volunteers as well as to our volunteer crew chiefs.
