Timothy was a highly favored and honorable associate of Apostle Paul. The direct letters Paul wrote to him were outlined explanations of how to bring about the scripture in Hebrews 6:1, Let us go on unto perfection. In his letters, Paul touched on specific areas of Christianity that could have been overlooked, misunderstood, or neglected by the layman Timothy. Timothy had a big responsibility but Paul taught him steadfast, hard spiritual truths to help him endure the confrontations ahead of him.
Ephesians 1: Paul highly praised the Ephesians for being faithful to follow Jesus, for trusting and believing in Him, for being sealed with the Holy Spirit and having love for the saints. Yet Paul went on to say that his prayers for them would continue until they received the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Jesus, and until they knew God's perfect will and the power of Jesus’s resurrection.
Colossians 1: Paul addressed the Colossians in the same way calling them faithful brethren who had love for the saints, hope in eternal life, showed Godly fruit, had knowledge of grace and truth and love for each other. Yet without ceasing, Paul desired that they be filled with the knowledge of God's will, have wisdom and spiritual understanding, increase in knowledge and fruitfulness, and be strengthened with all might by his glorious power.
Everyone needs an Apostle Paul mentor in their lives. Someone who will be honest, teach in the spirit of love, commend the good things but push toward the better things, be patient and understanding, and not give up until we reach the high calling of God He has for us.

The appearance and accent of a person reveals which country they are from, a citizen of, or what geographical area they belong to. This associates them to a certain society that is distinctive from all others. In Matthew 10, Jesus speaks of a separation that goes beyond temporary and insignificant earthly matters. It is a spiritual dividing that separates even the closest of allies, cultures, and families. He declared an allocation of a body of people who are willing to be believers in Him. This body of Christ is in no way associated with physical matters or seen through an earthly mind. It is a spiritual separation of regenerated hearts from unbelieving hearts, which science and all its wonders can never reveal.
(Ephesians 6, Hebrews 4) Spiritual separation happens by a dividing sword, which is the Word of God that is alive and powerful enough to give eternal life, able to discern inner thoughts and intentions, and the weapon that separates good from evil. Jesus foretold those who have been separated from the world to live in Him about the opposition they will face. They will be sent forth as sheep in the midst of wolves, however, divine wisdom and righteousness will make them overcomers.
Jesus warned of false prophets who appear to be sheep, but actually are wolves in sheep’s clothing, mingling and lurking until the time to show their ruthless and destructive fruits. Discernment of someone’s spiritual identity has to go beyond outer appearance. Spiritual knowledge reveals the wolf pack, but also discloses the Shepherd who is there to protect, defend, and lead His sheep to safety.

In the Old Testament era, the Mosaic Law was enforced, blood sacrifices were made, and solemn ceremonies took place. All of which became a source of vanity and dead works towards God. (Isaiah 1) The powerful words Isaiah spoke should have crumbled them to their knees and memories of God's past vengeance should have made them have a reverent fear of Him, but instead, the words were straightforwardly rejected.
A system of faith was in effect when the New Testament era began. The religion was prominent, cold, pursued by leaders who had a God complex, encouraged by influential folks who gained power and prestige from it, turned around to be a law organization that stole from the poor and intimidated the weak, and a culture of useless repetitions and mockery of a Sovereign God. No wonder the Messiah was greatly sought after and welcomed by the oppressed people of that day! Generations of neglect, abuse, and suffering, found hope of grace, love, and healing through a Promised Savior.
(Matthew 9) Matthew was categorized as a sinner, spoken of in the same sentence with harlots, murderers, and thieves. His corruptive career was offensive to the Jews, therefore he was considered excluded from God's people. But Jesus saw into his heart and called him away from his current lifestyle into a life of honesty, integrity, and respect. The religious leaders were on the outside looking in, thinking they were perfect and needed nothing. Truthfully, they needed Jesus as much as Matthew but were blinded from the truth. It was the ones like Matthew who humbled themselves and honorably got to dine with the Savior of the World.

Per doctors orders, I’ve been trying to get healthier. If you’ve ever started that journey after years of habitual slothfulness you know how hard it is, especially at an older age. So, a different diet, clearer mindset, and more exercise has been my focus for a while now. I wish I could say that I’ve conquered the transition but honestly it’s been a struggle.
Walking has always been something I’ve enjoyed doing anyway so expanding walk time seemed the logical thing to do. The first mile goes quickly, allows for time to think, and feels good on the body when blood flow increases. The strength felt from the first mile makes the second mile seem achievable.
The second mile isn’t bad but there’s not much left to think on and muscles are feeling the strain. Still, pushing to complete the second mile is bearable.
The third mile is where everything changes for me. Tiredness sets in, sweat is a nuisance, my feet are numb and my legs are tired, I no longer can think or contemplate anything to get my mind off of the distress. But it’s in that third mile that God uses the quietness to speak.
Even though the last mile seems to take forever and I no longer can push myself, I know that I can’t stop. I can’t stop and take a break, it would only make it harder to start back and finish. I know that when the last mile is finished, there will be pain and relief at the same time. The only choice is to continue with the stride movement. Stride is a regular or steady course, a step forward in development or progress, to move consistently and successfully.
On a Christian journey, we are not always on the vigorous first mile, sometimes we get to the worn out third mile. And that’s OK. All that matters is that we finish the course, keep walking, continue moving, even when reaching the point of having nothing left to push with, our body will naturally continue in stride with God as our strength.

John 3) The religious leaders brought her in before Jesus right in the middle of a Bible Study. They called Him Master in a shrewd way, because they wouldn’t allow Him to be their teacher. The sin of committing adultery wasn’t rare or uncommon, she just happened to be the one they chose to use as a way to deceitfully slander Jesus this day. The high ranking officials had the authority to twist the law for their own benefit, but were all too willing to pursue its authenticity for the sake of condemning others. As she entered into the presence of Jesus, her embarrassment surely must have been overwhelming. She thought she had been brought to a place of death but would soon realize this was the place she would find true Life.
Jesus began revealing the truth concerning her accusers. As they walked away one by one, God's grace and forgiveness began ushering into the heart of the woman. Her feeling of condemnation dwindled and was replaced by grace until she was alone in His presence surrounded by God's redemptive love. She was released from the bo***ge of mankind’s judgment and stood alone with Jesus as her Savior.
The religious leaders got caught in their hypocrisy and walked away more shameful than the woman whose shamefulness was evident. Her experience of finding life while being condemned to death was truly a bittersweet experience she would never forget.

The sound of a soft steady rain, especially on a tin roof, is something almost everyone can associate with. The moisture from an oncoming rain, especially on a hot summer day, is commonly welcomed by everyone. A rainy day brings peace with tranquility and is a natural sleep aid, but it also only takes a small amount of rain to enliven nature. Within hours, grass becomes higher, leaves become brighter, small buds break open to become gorgeous sweet smelling blooms. Birds are chirpier and frogs become more plentiful. All these blessings are made possible by the downpour of rain.
Rain is used in both a negative and positive way but more pleasant to discuss in a constructive and productive way. In scripture, rain is often used as a representation of abundance. God floods the soul with grace and mercy, allowing His attributes to be revealed. Nature doesn’t know how to reject the abundance of God, but humanity is different. People choose whether or not to let the abundance of ‘rain’ soak in, or because of hardness of heart, let it stand until it evaporates, being useful for nothing.
When ‘rain’ is consumed into the heart, good spiritual herbs and fruit spring forth from it. No matter how weeded over a flower bed is, when a bulb or root receives rain in its due time, it will work it’s way out between the weeds and grow. They will bloom and stay healthy the way they were designed. When a soul receives the Living Water, which is Jesus, from the eternal fountain of God, the purpose of life is revealed, transformation begins, and growth naturally happens.

Joshua 6) What an odd request for God to give them. March around the city of Jericho one time a day for six days, then seven times on the seventh day. The first day may have been uncomfortable, walking unknown territory that wasn’t yet theirs. The days ahead perhaps became easier, though the results of their task weren't completed. As the week prolonged, so did their confidence. Anticipation probably prevailed by the sixth day, with their last night in the camp being filled with thick excitement concerning what would take place on the morrow. Then the final day came and the feat was accomplished, just as God had promised.
Sometimes a prayer can start out as an impossible request. Nevertheless it is spoken to God with faith and concern. It’s easy to pray for small things but sometimes it’s the big mountain moving requests that are iffy in our minds.
But the ‘iffy’ ones are mentioned in prayer anyway, just in case, until it becomes habitual to pray for all needs and concerns. Some of the more major prayers start out with a little bit of faith, but soon changes begin taking place that builds hope concerning the stagnant request. Then faith builds and anticipation grows. After a while, boldness kicks in and the prayer is spoken with confidence and power. When obedience and the will of God connect, divine intervention begins to be recognized. As the power of God moves, walls fall, be it tangible burdens or spiritual hindrances, completing the process that from the beginning seemed impossible and intimidating.
