This year, AAUW-GC was one of a good number of Garrett County non-profits to receive funds from the Civic Club of Oakland, totaling about $20,000 for all of them. We are so grateful for the incredible amount of hard work Civic Club members do all year to fund raise in order to provide this level of support. On Saturday, June 13, they will be holding a new event…a Fashion Show! If you can attend, please consider it and bring a friend. You will be supporting so many organizations in our community as a result!

"A menopause bill from this session that every woman should know about is making its way to the Governor's desk for signing into law. The bill requires insurers to cover menopause-related care and evaluations (which many already do) and gives two continuing education credits for every hour of menopause-related training to healthcare practitioners. It's about time we start talking opening and knowledgeably about menopause!!"

The Maryland bill would encourage medical providers to learn about menopause and is part of a nationwide campaign to raise awareness.

Created by Shaina Taub, the award-winning musical tells the story of the women who fought for voting rights and helped secure the 19th amendment.

The filmed version features the original Broadway cast, including Jenn Colella, Nikki M. James and Hannah Cruz, bringing the production to screen following its stage run.
