Hope Takes Action

Hope Takes Action We seek to end poverty by advocating systemic change and empower individuals to transition to self-sufficiency through education and mentoring.

Hope Takes Action addresses the causes of poverty by viewing poverty through three perspectives; individual, institutional and community / policy. On the individual level the Getting Ahead workshops provide specific training on resources, economic diversity and long term mentoring to those seeking to transition out of poverty. The Bridges community education seminars provide awareness of the chall

enges faced by the individuals and promotes a paradigm shift to an understanding that poverty is not caused by a character deficiency in the individual but rather a failure of systems in general and the need to change those systems that just don't work. On the institutional level Hope Takes Action promotes collaboration between all agencies and government to better facilitate the individuals transition to sustainability. Utilizing insights provided by those in poverty Hope Takes Action seeks to bring everyone to the decision making table, explore solutions to policies and systems that don't work and promote systemic change.
