Update: They have landed @ 10:38 am CT. Now their adventure really begins!

All 58 Veterans, along with staff are about to take off to DC! Wishing them blue skies and safe travels. We will keep you posted when they land, and share their journey over the next few days!

This small town of McHenry, has the largest gathering for this event in all of America.

Today is Keep the spirt 45 alive!!

You could bring a picture of your Mother or Farther,Grandfather, Great Grandfather and share and bring a 8 X 10 picture or any picture to show to all and Keep the Spirit of 45 Alive. These WWII veterans celebrated 78 years ago the ending of WWII.

Starts at 5:00 PM today @ Veterans park McHenry IL.

Hope to see you and your family celebrate what they did for our country.
Hear the music of yesteryear’s gone by of Bill’s Bing Band. Lou Rugani the voice of yesteryear. Great food provided for purchase from our Polish Legion of America Veterans.
These veterans are growing slim come celebrate with them!!

Join the 3 McHenry Veterans Posts that will host the largest Keep the Spirit Alive ‘45 in America.
For 13 years we have recognized the Greatest Generation for standing watch over America during WWII. This event commemorates the ending of WWII, which America stopped and gave thanks for its ending.
As the years have passed by, so have these Honored Veterans as well as the citizens of those War Years slip away. To keep this Spirit of ’45 Alive as their numbers are retreating, we kindly ask that you bring an 8 x 10 picture of your loved one to hold at the ceremony and have your children hold their great or great-great grandparents picture so they may be a part of this special celebration!
Enjoy Bill’s Little Big Band relive the music of years past to bring a smile to our WWII generation that remains. We will let them know we care and never will forget.
So save the date, August 13, 2023 @ 4:00 PM starts sign in with the ceremony beginning @ 5:00PM.
Lou Rugani the voice of yesteryear will narrate the show.
Bill’s Big Band will entertain and bring the feeling of 1945 to our ears. Food will be available for purchase by the Polish Legion of American Veterans.
Bring your lawn chairs along, tents set up by Ed’s Rental of McHenry and enjoy this memorial celebration!
