The JB MDL TOP III hosted the annual SMSgt (Senior Master Sergeant) release party on 9 March 2026 at Tommy B’s. We celebrated as we honored the 25 Master Sergeants who have been selected for promotion to the rank of Senior Master Sergeant (SMSgt).

The SMSgt Selects received an engraved plaques to commemorate this milestone of their military journey.

🔹 Significance of the Rank 🔹

This marks a major milestone as a Senior Noncommissioned Officer enters the top two tiers of the enlisted force. With selection rates often hovering around 8–11%, we recognize the years of dedication and leadership required to achieve this rank.

This event highlights the transition into higher-level operational leadership. As Senior Master Sergeants, these individuals are expected to advise commanders, lead large teams, and merge technical talents with mission-critical functions.

The Top III is doing gift wrapping at the entrance of the BX. Come on out and let us do your gift wrapping for you. This is our last fundraiser of the year and we accept donations. Last night we had the honor of spending time with some of our amazing future leaders from the 87th Security Forces Squadron, the 87th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Department, and the 605th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. Our Mobile Mentorship program is an initiative to get out and about with our members working on mids or swings. We bring snacks and discuss all kinds of things like goals, family, and morale. We even talked about the proper way to drive through a roundabout 😏

Special thanks to the mentors that joined us and our Professional Development Committee for leading the event.
