After careful consideration, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Arkansas will be permanently closing our Teen Center, with our final day being Friday, May 29th.

This decision was not made lightly. Like many nonprofits, we have faced significant financial challenges that have made it impossible to sustain this site.

To every club member who walked through our doors over the last few years, we want you to know that you mattered to us. You still do. The Teen Center was more than just a place to spend time after school and during the summer. It was your safe space. A place where you were seen, heard, and valued. The memories made and the relationships built within those walls will not be forgotten.

To our staff who poured their hearts into these young people every single day, thank you. You showed up for these kids in ways that made a real difference and we are forever grateful.

We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to UAM College of Technology for graciously allowing us to use their space on campus and for their partnership with our Teen Center. Their support made this program possible and we are truly thankful.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Arkansas remains committed to serving the young people of our community through our clubs in McGehee, Dumas, and Dermott. Our mission has not changed, but moments like this remind us just how much community support matters. We cannot do this work alone. If you believe in what we do and the kids we serve, we ask that you consider supporting our mission so that we can continue to show up for the children of Southeast Arkansas who need us most.

We believe and we know that Great Futures Start Here in our clubs, and that promise still stands.

The Teen Center will be closed Friday, March 13th.

Go Owls!! 🏀🏆

As many of you know, our Lady Owl Basketball team will compete for the 3A State Championship this Friday, March 13, in Hot Springs (Bank OZK Arena). The game will begin at 12:00 p.m.

This is an outstanding accomplishment for our athletes and coaches. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment have brought them to this moment, and they truly deserve the full support of our community.

To allow our students, staff, and community the opportunity to cheer them on, school will be closed on Friday, March 13. This day will not need to be made up, as we have sufficient instructional hours built into our calendar.

We encourage all Owl fans to make the trip to Hot Springs and help create a great atmosphere for our Lady Owls as they compete for a state championship. Let’s show up and support our team! Go Owls!

Ticket information will be released shortly.

A big thank you to Samantha Funderberg from Simmons Bank for visiting our Club and sharing valuable financial knowledge with our youth! 💰🏦

Our members learned important real-world skills like how to write a check, fill out a deposit slip, and understand the basics of opening a bank account. These lessons help build confidence and prepare our kids for a successful financial future.

We’re grateful for community partners like Simmons Bank who take the time to invest in our youth and help them learn skills they’ll use for a lifetime. Thank you for making a difference! 💙

Today our kids did “ A Logo for you”. In this activity, students explored the kind of logo that they would present to the world, either to represent themselves as individuals or for a business they would run. Logos were created in Canva.

Our students completed a group STEM marble maze activity that challenges them to design, build, and test a functional maze using materials such as cardboard, straws, and glue, encouraging engineering design, spatial awareness, and problem-solving as students create paths with twists, turns, and dead ends to navigate a marble from start to finish, and some students worked on Coach Gains' assignment during homework/power hour.

This week, our members are sharpening their creative thinking skills through teamwork, collaboration and communication. Through engaging challenges, they’re learning how to work together, think critically, solve problems, and support one another to reach a common goal.

These are the kinds of real-world skills that help our members grow into confident leaders and innovative thinkers. These kids are the future.

Attention Parents:

We have received a $20,000 grant through the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the Tammis Day Foundation to support the expansion and delivery of high-quality arts programming.

As part of this award, we are participating in the National Arts Contest. We plan to enter 15-20 submissions into the national contest.

So, we're looking for our club members who have a passion and talent for the arts. This can be applied arts, digital arts, literary arts, performing arts, or visual arts.

Our plan is to host some type of local arts contest before submitting the entries into the national contest! We'll be sharing more details about this with our club members this week. We're looking forward to seeing their talent and creativity.

We will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27th.

Basketball games are cancelled as well.
