I stumbled on this today, reaffirming my belief that the universe knows what I’m thinking.
As I listened to the president describe his vice president, as I watched Joe Biden struggle to absorb what was happening on that stage, I became even more certain that this nation is immeasurably better off for having chosen Joe Biden in 2020.
I studied his face and his mannerisms. The past eight years have made real changes. No one looking at him then, and now can deny that. He is old and more frail than we wish him to be. (Personal confession: so am I.)
But, it is what we cannot see, what’s inside him, that we relied on throughout his long career.

One may disagree with one policy or another. Decisions informed by a lifetime of experience, knowledge, and a cadre of equally-dedicated professionals are worthy of honest debate.
When I weigh the visible against the internal, there is no contest. When I compare him to his opponent, I see Mt. Rainier, worn but solid, towering over a crumbling ant hill.
I reject the media frenzy. It is creating what it claims not to want - voter confusion and/or indifference, both of which endanger democracy.
They need to open the ant hill, and expose the trash inside. That’s where real danger lurks.
