Gulf Shores Police Department
Congratulations to Officer E. Mullinax for being selected as the Officer of the Month for April 2026.
The recommendation submitted by her supervisors highlighted an exceptional month of performance marked by dedication, initiative, and professionalism.
During April, Officer Mullinax handled 152 calls for service, including 122 self‑initiated activities. She made 21 self‑initiated arrests, five of which were felony arrests. She also conducted 100 vehicle stops, completed 17 foot patrols, and submitted 12 offense reports.
Even as the Spring Break Detail began to wind down, her commitment to proactive policing remained unwavering. Despite long hours and numerous overtime shifts, she consistently stepped up without complaint, demonstrating a strong desire to support her fellow officers and reduce their workload. Her proactive efforts were strategically focused on mitigating the offenses commonly encountered during the Spring Break season.
On April 18, 2026, she responded to a runaway juvenile complaint and successfully located the missing youth in a short period of time.
On April 24, 2026, after six demanding weeks of Spring Break operations, she continued to show vigilance and initiative. Her observation of suspicious activity in a parking lot led to four subjects being taken into custody, further underscoring her dedication to community safety.
A review of her work throughout April reflects a wide range of responsibilities—from relocating an alligator to addressing house parties and other citizen complaints. She led Bravo Squad, one of the department’s most proactive squads, by a significant margin across numerous performance categories.
Officer Mullinax, your accomplishments and the professionalism with which you represent the Gulf Shores Police Department are commendable. I am proud of your continued excellence and look forward to seeing all you will achieve throughout the year. Keep up the outstanding work.
