Above the Net

Above the Net Henry County lacked a tennis program in most middle schools and as a result students would begin participating in other sports at that grade level.

We are a community- centered youth development organization laser focused on bridging the resource gaps for underserved youth through tennis, literacy, and social support utilizing a holistic approach addressing the mind, body, and spirit of the child. Above the Net was founded when three avid recreational tennis players in Henry County, GA felt that there was a need to expand participation in the

sport particularly by the youth in the area. In turn, high school tennis programs began to falter. With an underutilized resource of tennis courts at Richard Craig Park, the founders decided to create a non-profit all about growing youth participation in tennis in the area and leveraging that sport for college scholarships, strengthening communities, and building life skills.

What an incredible few days filled with tennis, excitement, new experiences, and memories to last a lifetime. Our players had the opportunity to experience the US Open, explore New York, and share this special journey with their ATN families.

A heartfelt thank you to the parents who joined us and made the trip even more special. We’re also grateful to our donors and sponsors for their support and generosity as we continue creating opportunities for our players.

🎾❤️ Above the Net was thrilled to partner with the Henry County Library System to introduce our tennis programs to Henry County’s homeschool students and families!

And the response was amazing! We had the opportunity to connect with so many wonderful families who were eager to learn more about Above the Net, our programs, and the opportunities we create through tennis.

Henry County has a vibrant and growing homeschool community, and we’re excited about what’s ahead! We look forward to building meaningful new relationships and creating even more opportunities for young people to learn, grow, build confidence, and thrive through tennis.
