Freedom from people-pleasing doesn’t mean we stop caring about people. It means we start caring more about the approval that matters most.

People-pleasing asks, “What will they think?” Faith asks, “What does God think?”
People-pleasing says, “I need everyone to approve of me.” Faith says, “I want to faithfully follow Jesus even when someone doesn’t understand.”

You cannot live for the approval of everyone around you and live fully surrendered to Jesus at the same time. Jesus offers something better than the exhausting pursuit of everyone’s approval. You can live secure in Him, faithfully following Him even when others misunderstand your decisions.

Ask God today: Where have people’s opinions been controlling me? Then choose to live for the approval that matters most - His.

We are grateful for the incredible ministry of Captain Buddy and Mrs. Mary Puryear that spans decades and has impacted thousands for the gospel across the Caribbean and in the United States as well. Their provision of relief supplies and ministry support centered on gospel outreach, and the world will never be the same. As they head into retirement, we pray the Lord's blessings upon this transition and know that they will continue to influence lives with Christ in a powerful way through their daily walks with Him.

We haven't gotten over what we saw God do through this team in Honduras last week. So many answers to prayer came together that we eventually lost count of exactly how many blessings we saw. But our eyes were fixed continually on the Giver of those blessings, the One Who orchestrated the details of those procedures being freely given to a semi-truck driver, a foreman at a construction site, and a housewife, among many others.

Our patients are recovering well and being checked on by our staff and some local church volunteers who have shown their love in countless ways. We are thankful for the continual partnership with Team Honduras and Iglesia Bautista El Faro. Their faithful concern for their neighbors who do not yet know Christ is central to everything that happens at the Rearick Surgical Center.

Our team is home from Nepal, praising God for all He did during their time there!

The Gospel was not absent from our work, even when circumstances required discretion. Though we cannot share the details or numbers, we are grateful for the opportunities God provided to make Christ known.

Traveling to Nepal was an answer to many prayers! We are so grateful for the host missionaries, the Ghimire family, and all they did to make this trip possible! Please continue to pray for their ministry as they faithfully serve the people of Nepal.

What a joy and privilege it was to serve the people of Nepal, even for just one week! We are so thankful for each team member who came ready to serve and poured their hearts into every part of this trip. It is always incredible to see how God brings together the right people for each team and uses them to accomplish His work!

Have you ever said yes when everything inside you was telling you that you should say no?

Sometimes we say yes because we genuinely want to serve. Other times, we say yes because we’re afraid of disappointing someone. That distinction matters. There will always be more good things we could do than things God has actually called us to do.

If our goal is to make sure no one is ever disappointed with us, we will eventually overload our schedules, exhaust ourselves, and neglect what God has actually asked us to do.

Sometimes pleasing God requires disappointing people. Jesus never called you to meet everyone’s expectations. He called you to follow Him. You don’t have to say yes to everything in order to be faithful. Sometimes a gracious “no” allows you to give your best “yes” to what God has actually called you to do.

Before your next yes, ask: Am I being led by God or am I being controlled by people?
