Today is a somber day as we commemorate the 9/11 anniversary. As 9/11 first responders, Warren and I, (Nancy), recall our experiences during that tragic event. Warren, a retired Federal law enforcement officer/ Secret Service, was working at the White House on 9/11. I am a retired NYC Paramedic. The passage of 24 years has not diminished the vividness of our memories. Regrettably, we continue to mourn the loss of friends, colleagues, and loved ones due to 9/11-related illnesses. Warren, Eugene, and I are deeply aware of the importance of returning home to our families after each shift. Sadly, many of our fellow first responders and military members did not have that opportunity. We remain steadfast in our commitment to protect and serve, albeit in different capacities. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who supported our event. Our appreciation extends to our sponsors, the City of McDonough, the McDonough Police Department, the McDonough Fire Department, and many others, including our community. We are delighted to have surpassed our previous records this year, raising $30,000 and registering 324 participants. This accomplishment would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of all involved. THANK YOU!
