On behalf of the McDonald FOP Lodge 194 we would like to thank everyone who attended the Village of McDonald Safety Day this year. We had an amazing turnout of children (and adults) that had a great time interacting with local police and fire departments. We love hosting this event each year and really getting to connect with the youth of our Village.

During the event we were able to properly fit and give away approximately 30 more free bike helmets and bike lights to children.

Due to donations in the past the McDonald FOP Lodge 194 was able to provide free ice cream from The Village Creamery to everyone that attended.

We would like to thank the McDonald Fire Department Association, Inc. for their generous donation of water and Gatorade for everyone that attended. A special thank you to FF/EMT Candel of the McDonald Fire Department for single-handedly supplying the event with our ambulance and two firetrucks. Not only did he interact and educate the children about all of the equipment they use, he also took real medical calls during the event and returned right back to continue educating. Great Job!

We would like to thank Mayor Lewis again for acquiring all of the bike helmets we were able to give away. We would also like to thank Councilwoman Reckard and State Farm for the awesome bike safety coloring books. We would also like the thank the Trumbull County Mental Health and Recovery Board for coming and sharing great resources to the community.

A big shoutout to the Mahoning Valley Scrappers for letting Scrappy and Jade attend.

And lastly, a big thank you to all of the local police departments that attended the event. It was awesome to watch the youth of our Village interacting with our local Officers and their equipment.

Due to a lack of interest and signups from golfers this year we have no choice but to make the hard decision to cancel our annual golf outing. We greatly appreciate everyone who has supported us in the past and hope next year will have a better outcome. The McDonald FOP uses the money raised from our annual golf outings to make things like Village Safety Day, Shop with a Cop, and multiple other donations possible. We will continue to make these things happen this year but will need support next year to continue these traditions.

The McDonald FOP Lodge 194 along with the McDonald Police Department hosted our Annual Shop with a Cop last night at Austintown Walmart. We had a great time and the kids had a blast!

This event would not be possible without the generous donations received from our golfers and businesses during our Annual Golf Outing. We would like to again thank everyone for letting us be able to do this and other community outreach.

The McDonald FOP would also like to thank the Village of McDonald for letting us use the Community Room, McDonald Local Schools for supplying a bus to transport the families, Roosevelt Principal Mr. Jones for donating his time to drive the bus, Roosevelt Teacher Mr. Ronghi for assisting, Mayor Lewis for his donation of gift cards for the kids to The Village Creamery, Ianazone's Pizza and Austintown Walmart for being a great host!

We would like to express our gratitude to the Niles VFW Post 2074 for their generous donation of $6,000 to the FOP. The donation will be utilized to make purchases directed at enhancing officer mental health.
