As the Winter Solstice approaches — the shortest day and the longest night — we invite you to pause, breathe, and rest. Step out of the holiday bustle and into a calm, cat filled space!

Are you a lover of books and cats? Looking to reconnect with quiet moments and cozy pages?
Join us for “Cozy Cat Chapters: Winter Solstice Edition”!
($20 purr person | Reservations Required | Ages 18+)

No discussions, no pressure — this isn’t a book club.
Just peaceful reading time and the gentle company of rescue cats.

How it works:
📚 Bring your current read (or an audiobook with headphones!)
🐾 Enjoy two 45-minute silent reading sessions, with a 30-minute intermission to stretch, sip tea, or quietly chat.
🛋️ Bring a floor pillow if you’d like — just know a cat might steal it.
🏷️ We’ll assign each guest to a cozy room with at least one cat.
⏳ Please do not arrive after 2:15 PM.

A few notes:
– If you’re allergic to cats, this might not be the event for you.
– Cat cuddles are never guaranteed…because…cats.
– We ask that all guests remain respectful, quiet, and immersed in reading.
– Ages 18+

🍃 Basil Update! 🍃

Our sweet girl Basil went to the vet last night for her blood pressure recheck and electrolyte panel — and she did it all without gabapentin so we could get her true, unsedated numbers. She was such a brave girl. 💛🐾

Good news: Her potassium levels are finally starting to rise! They’re not quite where they need to be, so we’ll keep her on her Renal K powder to keep things trending upward.

Not-so-good news: Basil does officially have high blood pressure. 😩 We’ve added a medication to help get that under control.

She’s scheduled for another check on 12/26, so please keep those paws crossed for good results! 🤞💛🐱

Juju first came to our rescue as a tiny kitten in 2017 and grew up in a peaceful home where he was the center of someone’s world. His person adored him. They were inseparable. And Juju absolutely thrived with that steady, comforting companionship.

Everything changed in 2023 when his person passed away. Juju suddenly found himself without the one constant he had always counted on. He returned to us grieving, confused, and trying to make sense of a life that suddenly felt too quiet and too empty. 💔

It’s now been two years since he lost his person, and Juju is still waiting for someone to choose him again.

Today, he’s ready to open his heart—he just needs a patient, understanding human who can give him the kind of stability he once knew. Juju is chatty, full of personality, and incredibly devoted. He’ll follow you around the house, “assist” with all your daily tasks, curl up nearby, and keep watch over you from his favorite high spot. And yes… his biscuit-making skills remain unmatched.

Juju does struggle with anxiety, which he shows through over-grooming and chewing plastic. He’s been improving on a prescription calming diet and daily fluoxetine, and in a quiet, predictable home, he may eventually be able to taper off. Consistency is everything for this boy.

His ideal home is calm and steady—someone who is home often, with no other pets or young children, where he can feel safe and loved again.

Pepper may be 17 years old and in hospice care, managing hyperthyroidism and a mammary gland tumor, but she’s proving she’s far from done living life. This sweet girl recently discovered the cat wheel in her foster home…and promptly decided to teach herself how to use it! 💛

She reminds us every day that spirit has no age limit and that it’s never too late to surprise yourself or try something new. Go, Pepper, go! 🐾✨

🥹‼️FOSTERS NEEDED‼️🥹

Fostering is hard and can be very demanding. We would be lying if we said it was all rainbows and perfect kittens. It does take up a part of your home and a bit of your time.

However, without foster homes we cannot help the kittens (and their moms!) and special adult cat medical cases that need a place to crash.

We do ask certain things of you and your time like transporting your fosters to vet appointments at OUR vet offices if needed, allowing APPROVED adopters into your home to meet and adopt kittens if possible, frequently communicating with us, taking GOOD photos, and of course making tiny kittens adoptable!

We also prefer that you are within 30-40 minutes of McDonald - we have learned that it’s much easier for us to manage to bring supplies, give shots, etc. Yes, we provide all of the supplies you would need!

We still require you to apply and be approved for fostering. Your resident pets must receive annual care, required vaccines and you must provide your vet information so we can verify.

Our sweet Littlefoot had his cardiology appointment this morning, and we received devastating news.

He’s been diagnosed with juvenile hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM) with congestive heart failure—a genetic condition that makes it difficult for his heart to pump and puts him at risk for fluid buildup and blood clots. This has caused a Left Ventricular Outflow Tract (LVOT) obstruction, which restricts blood flow from the heart’s left ventricle. He’s also showing signs of aortic stenosis, another inherited defect that further strains his heart.

Littlefoot has started Lasix (to reduce fluid around his heart), Plavix (a blood thinner to reduce clots), and Spironolactone (another med in conjunction with Lasix to help remove fluid) to help keep him comfortable, and he’ll remain with his wonderful foster family—safe, loved, and cared for—until it’s time to say goodbye.

The cardiologist believes he may only have months to a year, so we’re focusing on giving him the very best days possible.

Please hug your furbabies a little tighter today, and remember how important regular vet care is. And as always, this is exactly where your donations go—providing cats like Littlefoot with the diagnostics, medications, and compassionate care they need, no matter how long or short their journey may be.

These two sweet siblings came to us earlier this year after their beloved caretaker entered hospice care. Their world changed overnight — but before he said goodbye, he needed to know Jack and Jill would be safe and cherished. We promised him they would be. And we’ve held that promise close. 💛

Since then, with patience, routine, and so much gentle love, Jack and Jill have completely blossomed. They greet visitors with soft meows, flop right onto their backs for belly rubs (yes, they fully commit), and trail behind you hoping for treats, attention, or both. Watching their confidence grow has been one of our favorite transformations.

Jack and Jill truly thrive with other cats and would be happiest adopted together, paired with one of their rescue friends, or welcomed into a home with calm, friendly felines. They can still be a bit timid in new environments, so a quieter home without dogs or young children would help them feel safe and settle in comfortably.
