Happy Wednesday! Bullsnakes are excellent natural pest control. A single snake can eat large numbers of rodents that damage crops, spread disease, or dig burrows in pastures and roadsides.

There is still time to help us turn this map green! 💚

The annual Tyler Vanderheiden Memorial 2 Mile and 5 Mile Road Run still needs participants from 42 counties in Nebraska and eight states!

This annual race was started by the Vanderheiden family in memory of their son, Tyler. The run raises awareness of mental health by encouraging walking and running as effective tools in the battle for mental and emotional wellness. Proceeds from the race are used for the creation, maintenance or upgrade of trails in our state park system. This year, funds will support Smith Falls State Park trails.

It is the Vanderheiden family's goal to see runners from every county in Nebraska and every state in the country participate in-person or virtually in the race. With just a few days left to register, help us turn this map green by signing up and inviting others to join.

Check out this Rooster that said hi to our Farm bill Wildlife Biologist, Cody Baker, the other day! Cody was out on some CRP in Antelope County, he said this Rooster was in full spring garb and didn't mind him being there, he continue to crow a couple of times before moving into denser cover!
