Thank you Hillcrest "A Caring Center" and Kinship Pointe at McCook for welcoming us with Martha Callahan to share information about Thurst Quenchers: foods that help quench thirst especially for people who live with fluid restriction due to heart conditions or kidney disease. We especially enjoyed fresh asparagus from Klooz Farm Market.

We are excited to share a magnificent display of remedies from Know-How McCook. Visit ArtBank, 108 West D Street, open today from 10-4 pm and ongoing through the summer.

Know-How (2024-ongoing) is a project by Jody Wood featuring a process of collecting and sharing community health knowledge from around the world. Within the project, knowledge about health and care is generated through situated encounters, material engagements, and storytelling. Launched in September 2025, Know How: McCook includes oral history and remedy-as-recipe workshops in collaboration with Hillcrest Nursing Home, Kinship Pointe, Heritage Senior Center, and various residents of McCook. The project is supported by the Ed and Jean Mathews Foundation, Nebraska Arts Council, Graff Charitable Foundation and in collaboration with the 6th Floor Project. A shared community meal based on mobility remedies will take place at ArtBank on September 18, 2026. Save the date!

What a great opportunity to support these amazing community farmers. It is a USDA reimbursement grant and they are halfway to their fundraising goal. Let’s get them over the finish line!

We are getting closer to our goal!!! Here is our venmo information **We need your help** We were awarded a grant from the USDA to build a commercial kitchen at the garden. It is a reimbursement grant, so we purchase the parts of the project, turn in a receipt, then we are reimbursed. We are looking for investors that would be able to supply the upfront costs, with the knowledge your money will be returned.

This commercial kitchen will be built inside a re**er trailer, and satisfy the certifications necessary to expand our honey and produce options.

There are many parts of this project that will be purchased, not just one big price. Purchase prices range from $20 to $9000. Money can be used specifically or pooled with others for the bigger purchases.

Our goal is $10k that we will use for the initial purchases then roll over into the next part of the project until completion. All investments should be returned by the end of July 2026

This project will launch us forward as a small business allowing more options for foods and sales.

We plan to

** Cut produce into smaller portions, make fresh salads
** Make homemade meals from our homegrown produce
** Process our hand harvested local honey, including creamed honey and infused honey, and sell it at local stores.
**Host workshops on how to prepare and preserve your homegrown food

The project pieces-
**Trailer - we have located the perfect trailer!
**Electricity - internal wiring, lights, etc
**Supplies - steel prep tables, general kitchen appliances and utensils
**Walk-in Cooler

You've seen how we work when we set our mind to it, such as the greenhouses, Veggie Shed, and our farmers market trailer. We are excited to get this project started. We appreciate any support you can give us!

Thank you!
