Morgan County Early Intervention

Morgan County Early Intervention Morgan County Early Intervention "Helping children and families wherever they choose to live, play, and spend their day."

Early Intervention (EI) is a statewide system that provides coordinated early intervention services to parents of eligible children under the age of three with developmental delays or disabilities. EI is grounded in the philosophy that young children learn best from familiar people in familiar settings. Every family served in EI will have a local EI team that consists of a service coordinator, ser

vice providers, and your family. Your team works with you in your home or other places you and your family spend time to develop a coordinated plan called an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). You and your team will work through your IFSP plan to use your existing supports and resources—and build upon them—to learn to enhance your child’s learning and development.

What a fun day at Lavender Fest!

Morgan County Early Intervention was so excited to be part of Kids’ Alley at Lavender Fest at Bellavenue Manor! We loved spending the day with all of the kiddos who stopped by to make a mess with us, create some colorful artwork, and take home a little homemade moon dough.

A huge thank you to Bellavenue Manor for inviting us to be part of such a wonderful community event, and to everyone who stopped by our table to play, create, and say hello!

We love opportunities like this to get out into our community, connect with families, and remind everyone that Early Intervention is all about meeting children where they are; through play, creativity, and experiences that make learning fun.

Thank you for letting us be part of your Lavender Fest family! 💜 We had a blast!

See you tomorrow!

When you work with children, you end up doing some pretty questionable things… 😂 Today was a first for our EI team!

At the request of one of our kiddos, our Developmental Specialist, Amber Garrett, wore a Freddy Krueger mask while conducting an IFSP meeting. Safe to say, she understood the assignment! 😅

Moments like these are a perfect reminder of what Early Intervention is all about. We meet children where they are; whether that’s through dinosaurs, princesses, tractors, superheroes… or even Freddy Krueger. Building trust and connection often starts by stepping into their world.

It’s not always glamorous, and it’s definitely never boring, but it’s one of the many reasons Early Intervention is so special. When we meet kids where they are, amazing things can happen.

9–12 Months: Play is Learning

Between 9 and 12 months, babies are becoming more independent and eager to explore. They are learning through movement, imitation, and everyday interactions with the people they love. Simple play experiences help build communication, problem-solving, motor, and social-emotional skills.
