QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Question #1: This is confusing. Haven’t we had a FaceBook Group page for years?
Answer: Historically, a Facebook member Group page operated by Peter Ritt since he was a Board member has operated as a place for members to discuss issues. Over time, the group participating within that group page has come to include non-members. The current Board has no control over who participates and no way to use that site to communicate information with members. The official business page was started two years ago to inform members of upcoming events, such as when the next Board meeting will occur, or to relay any Forest service News such as prescribed burns in effect or information about Pilgrim Creek Road. It came to the attention of the Board that members want a private forum to discuss issues of common interest, and the idea for the member group page was born.
Question #2: Ok, I understand. If I want to share my thoughts about an issue and get feedback from other members, I should go to the group page?
Answer: Yes.
Question #3: If you are having an issue or complaint:
Answer: contact the office via phone or email or through the contact form on the MSFPOA website.
Question 4: What should I do if I have a neighborhood concern?
Answer: If you have a neighborhood concern you would like to publicly announce and discuss with other members.
Answer: make an announcement to the member group page.
Question #5: I know that the holidays are coming, I wonder when the office will be open and when they might be closed for the holidays…
Answer: You will find information of Holiday Office closures on the Official Business Page.
Question #6: If I want to discuss common interests with other members such as road conditions, weather, theft in the neighborhood, or a suspicious vehicle being riven around, which site do I got to?
Answer: If you want discussion, or to spread news quickly, the group site is where you should go. If you want the office to make an announcement, contact the office through phone or email, and on the next possible business day, we will get to it.
Question #7: What kind of information will the official business page have?
Answer: The office has been posting Board meeting agendas, announcements such as Forest Service burn information, office closures, and matters related to annual invoicing of membership dues. Meeting minutes are posted on msfpoa.com, the Associations website.
Question #8: Who is managing the group page and how do I become an approved member of the group? I’ve got something to say.
Answer: It’s being administrated by the Technology-Communication Committee with a group of member volunteers. Office staff is not monitoring the member group page; however, they will continue as they have been on the official page. Member volunteers are needed to assist with this project to ensure it goes well and stays up to date. You can request to join the group through Facebook. You will need to wait for the committee to approve you, which they will do after confirming you are a current member of the POA. Once approved, you can chat to your heart’s content.
