McCall Area Snowmobilers The Snowmobile Club encourages and promotes safe and responsible recreational use of snowmobiles in the McCall area. Its a great day for the whole family.

MASC provides multiple $500 scholarships to MD Highschool Seniors each year. These funds are raised through our Annual Fun Run, and ticket sales at club meetings. ADOPT-A-TRAIL funds are raised through sponsorship from local and Boise businesses. These funds are used to extend the grooming season to 43A snowmobile area. We want to thank all of our AAT Sponsors for their generous donations. We would like to extend an invitation to visit and enjoy snowmobiling in McCall, Idaho and throughout Valley County. The McCall area offers over 544 miles of groomed trails, breathtaking bowls and more back country powder than you can cover in a lifetime! McCall has consistently been in the top ranking for the North Western United States with no. 6 being our rating this year. Our first vintage ride was a HUGE success! We had about 75 riders, perfect weather and minimal breakdowns.

Congrats to our winners:

Youngest rider: Eva Koogler, 7 (she also technically was on the oldest sled, and 82 Yamaha Excell, but she decided to allow someone else to win)

Oldest sled: Valerie Blair on an 87 Phazer

Biggest Handicap: Rob Kirsch, sled age+his age was 84

Thank you to the Darcy and Kirsch families for donating the prizes!

We cannot wait to do this again next year! Stay tuned we plan to make this even bigger and better!

Coming into this weekend please remember the Granite Mountain Closure is now in effect!

Between January 15th and March 31st, much of the Granite Mountain Area is closed to snowmobiling to provide non-motorized recreation opportunities and protect public safety during Brundage Mountain’s cat skiing operations. You may still access the lookout via our shared use road known as the Boulevard. Check out the maps or follow the signs from Goose Lake for Boulevard access. Our website has a link to access maps that show this area as well as other play areas for you to explore! These maps are available in paper form at many local businesses as well.

Please respect this closure as snowmobile incursions into the permitted area can be a safety issue as well as giving our community a black eye!

Club members with several other local groups worked together to create a video highlighting this closure and reminding all of us to recreate responsibly. Please check out our video and share this post to get the word out!

New Ordinance: Winter Snowmobile Parking Areas

Valley County has adopted Ordinance No. 2026-01, updating regulations for designated winter snowmobile parking areas. The ordinance was approved on November 24, 2025 and went into effect on December 15, 2025.

What’s included in the update:

Updated rules for day use, overnight parking, and long-term parking in designated snowmobile parking areas

Parking areas affected include: Francis Wallace, Brush Creek, Green Gate, Lick Creek, and Wellington Snow Park

Authorization for parking fees, which will be established by resolution, for day use, overnight, and long-term parking

Updated enforcement provisions, including a $50 per violation penalty, with a maximum of $5,000 per season

Our annual Christmas party is this Friday 12/12 and it starts at 6pm. This is held downstairs at Idaho First Bank. The club will provide a turkey and a ham, please bring a side dish or dessert! There will also be a gift exchange, so please bring a gift, but don’t spend more than $25! Can’t wait to see everyone!
