As we welcome a new year, it’s hard to put into words just how grateful we are for this incredible community. When families who need help the most face uncertainty, your response has been nothing short of inspiring. Seeing so many neighbors step up to care for friends and community members through generous support of our programs reminds us how strong and compassionate this place truly is. Thank you for being there for one another.

With deep appreciation for your generosity:
At this time, we kindly ask that used clothing, household items, and similar donations be taken to one of our three wonderful local thrift stores, which also play an important role in supporting community needs. Our storage space is currently full, and what we need most right now are non-perishable food donations. Thank you for helping us focus resources where they are most needed.

Woodstock update:
Our volunteers have been busy responding to requests for winter firewood, made possible by the wood we had stored ahead of the season. We’re also grateful for the donation of a pallet of bagged pellets, which may be available to households in need. If you require assistance, please call 208-634-3037 and leave a message—one of our volunteers will return your call.

🪵🪵🪵Thank you for helping with Woodstock!

Last week’s Star News showed a full list of all of the many partners that made Woodstock possible.

🙌We delivered to nearly 80 families and split roughly 120 cords of wood!

We stored extra wood for delivery to folks with emergency needs throughout the winter.

Do you know someone that needs wood? Contact your local pastor or Heartland Hunger and we will help out.

Just a reminder that we are going to be splitting wood and delivering to over 80 local families this Saturday starting at 8am. We usually finish up by around 3pm.

We will have water, bathrooms, and wash stations on site. Please bring gloves and hearing protection.

There will be a barbeque around lunch time for volunteers.

9/13 -Saw Day 8am Volunteers are needed to chainsaw wood into rounds. If you have a saw, come and cut up logs!

9/20 -Woodstock! 8am Volunteers needed to run splitters, load logs, and deliver wood. Also need folks to direct volunteers, keep track of deliveries, etc.

Can you help?
We need to get a count of Splitters and Delivery Vehicles. If you are bringing a splitter or a truck/trailer to deliver, please email me. Let me know what you are able to provide.

Neighbors helping neighbors — it’s what Woodstock is all about! Join us for our annual community wood cutting and delivery day to support families in need in McCall and surrounding areas.

🔥 Last year, we delivered firewood to over 80 families — and we need your help to do it again!

🪓 Volunteers Needed For:

Running chainsaws
Measuring rounds
Hauling and delivering wood
Operating splitters
Cooking & serving food
Directing volunteers

Spring Food Needs! – Your Help Makes a Big Difference!

We are so grateful for the incredible support of this community. Thanks to you, we’re able to help local families put food on the table — but the need remains high, and we’re seeing new families each week.

If you’re able to donate, we are especially in need of these items right now:
• Pasta (any kind)
• Rice
• Dried beans (any kind)
• Canned beans (pinto, kidney, black, etc.)
• Canned spaghetti sauce
• Canned chili — always a favorite for many families

Thank you for your continued generosity and care for your neighbors. Every donation helps make sure no one in our community goes without.

🌟Drop off any non-perishable food items (even ones not on the list!) into the box outside the food bank at 556 Deinhard Ln (located behind the McCall Police Dept.)—any day of the week! Local grocery gift cards are always welcome.
