A Latina immigrant from Colombia, Sonia has dedicated her career to empowering individuals with disabilities through workforce training, advocacy, and community partnerships. Her work has expanded opportunity, strengthened Hispanic families, and helped build a more inclusive economy across the Rio Grande Valley.

Through visionary leadership and a passion for service, Sonia continues to open doors so every individual can learn, work, and thrive with dignity. Her impact embodies the spirit of the Diversity & Inclusion award.

A.S.I. Advocates Searching for Independence LLC is looking for a Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) Trainer to work with students aged 14-22 years old with special needs. We are looking for someone compassionate and motivated to help our students reach their goals and build independence.

We’re seeking someone who has:
📘 A background in Special Education, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field

🤝 Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs
💙 A genuine passion for empowering others
💬 Strong communication skills and a team spirit (Bilingual plus)

🕒 Part-time hours • 💼 Meaningful work • 🌈 Supportive, mission-driven environment
