Palmer Drug Abuse Program-McAllen PDAP is a NON-PROFIT organization that provides FREE:
* Substance Abuse Counseling Services
* Prevention Education (Elementary and Jr. High School)

PDAP uses a proven method of rehabilitation, a deep foundation in a twelve-step recovery program, that stresses total abstinence from drugs and alcohol. With the support of counselors and recovery peer group, the drug user learns coping skills needed to deal with and enjoy life without the use of alcohol or other drugs. https://linktr.ee/pdap_mcallen

Yesterday, PDAP had the opportunity to attend the Building Bridges Workshop, hosted by the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office Victim Services Unit.

Throughout the workshop, we gained valuable insight into the juvenile detention process. We also learned more about child trauma, how the body reacts to traumatic experiences, and the importance of understanding these responses when working with youth and families.

A special THANK YOU to the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office Victim Services Unit for organizing such an informative workshop and bringing community professionals together to learn.
