Wisconsin Heights Community Garden Community garden project benefiting individuals and families in the Wisconsin Heights School District. Supported by several businesses.

This community garden has 24 plots ranging from 10' x 20' to 20' x 40'. There is also 2400 ft2 of food pantry garden that the gardeners tend to for donation to Black Earth and Mazomanie food pantries.An orchard and communal raised beds were established in 2017 for the enjoyment of our gardeners.

We will be making our NINTH delivery to the local food pantries tomorrow, Aug. 25th at 2:30. We will be making our EIGHTH delivery to the local food pantries on Saturday, August 22. Feel free to drop your extra veggies at the Rumpus Room, 15 Brodhead St in Mazo, this Weds-Friday between 8:30 and 4 and they will be added to the delivery. Or you can reach out via messenger or email to [email protected] and we can make other arrangements. Yesterday’s harvest included our first eggplant and a ripe cantaloupe!

We will be making our SEVENTH delivery to the local food pantries on Tuesday, Aug 18. Feel free to drop your extra veggies at the Rumpus Room, 15 Brodhead St in Mazo, tomorrow between 8:30 and 4 pm or Tuesday between 8:30 and 2, and they will be added to the delivery. Or you can bring your bounty to the Lake Marion Concert (6-8 pm Tuesday) and it will be added to our next delivery. Here’s a lovely wee watermelon which we hope to include in our 12th delivery….

If you have produce you would like to donate, please drop it off at the Rumpus Room, 15 Brodhead St, Mazomanie, before 2 pm today. Or, swing by Lake Marion tonight, for our first “Bounty Harvest Day,” and your veggies will be added to next weeks delivery.

We are really excited to partner with the amazing Mazomanie Music Conservancy to bring another opportunity for service and relationship to our community. Introducing, Bounty Harvest Days!

These days are designed for you to reach out to all your gardening friends (so share this post) whether members of the community garden or not and encourage them to share in their own personal garden's end of summer bounty! (we know you have too many zucchinis, don't worry there is no shame).

We will be making our FOURTH delivery to the local food pantries tomorrow, Tuesday August 4, at 2 p.m. If you have extra produce coming from your own garden that you'd like to donate, you can drop it off at the Rumpus Room, 15 Brodhead St. in downtown Mazo, anytime today before 4, or tomorrow between 8:30 and 2. Or if those times don't work for you, just reach out and we can figure something out.

HUGE THANKS to our Brat Fry volunteers! We are still trying to return/re-sell some of the non-perishables that we had left over, but once we do, our net profit will be over $600. That will go a long way towards getting the garden started in our new site this fall. We're so grateful for your time, your brat frying skills, and your baked goods!

In order to grow all these lovely veggies and create a shared space for gardening, we need to raise some funds! THIS SATURDAY (Aug 1), the brat stand at the Shoe Box in Black Earth is ours. It’s our biggest annual fundraiser, and so far only half of our shifts are covered. CAN YOU SPARE TWO HOURS this Saturday to help us out? You’ll of course get lunch in return for your time.
