Tune in this weekend to watch an important conversation on State of Affairs with Steve Adubato.

Dr. Colum Amory, MPH, Chief of Cerebrovascular Services at Hackensack University Medical Center, discusses the signs and causes of stroke, the connection between stroke and aphasia, and why awareness and education are so important for individuals and families navigating recovery.

We are proud to see Adler Aphasia Center featured as part of this discussion and grateful for opportunities to help spread awareness about aphasia and the resources available to those affected.

Thank you to Steve Adubato and the State of Affairs team for helping bring attention to these important topics. đź’™

June is Aphasia Awareness Month đź’™

Aphasia affects a person’s ability to speak, understand, read, or write — but not their intelligence, personality, or desire to connect.

At Adler Aphasia Center, we believe awareness leads to understanding, connection, and community. This month, we’ll be sharing stories, conversations, and moments that help show what aphasia really looks like — and the incredible people living with it every day.

➡️ Follow along! Each week of June we will post a new aphasia challenge. Try each challenge to get a taste of what it's like to live with aphasia.

Because the more people understand aphasia, the less alone someone feels after hearing that diagnosis.

Communicating with someone with aphasia doesn’t have to be complicated — but it does require intention. 💙

Small shifts like slowing down, simplifying language, and using gestures can make a big difference.

Because communication is about connection, not perfection.

Today we remember and honor those who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸
