Folks from across the Buffalo Trace Area Development District came together on Thursday, July 23, 2026 to help Mason County celebrate the rededication of their beautiful historic Dover Covered Bridge.

There were so many people were responsible for making this day possible. Special thanks go out to the Buffalo Trace Wooden Covered Bridge Authority, Missy Hardy and the staff and board of Buffalo Trace Area Development District, Kentucky Transportation Department and Secretary Gray, former State Representative Mike Denham and Rocky Adkins, the Graton Family, Mason Co Fiscal Court, City of Maysville, Mason Co Fiscal Court, City of Maysville, Maysville/Mason County Tourism, Homemakers and all those who signed petitions and wrote letters in support of the restoration of the Dover Covered Bridge.

The Explore Fleming County Committee is proud to announce the release of Historic Fleming County, Kentucky Churches—a beautiful new 204-page, full-color publication honoring the rich faith, history, and architectural heritage of our community.

Created in celebration of America 250, this book highlights the historic churches of Flemingsburg and Fleming County that are 100 years old or older, preserving their stories and significance for future generations.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Brenda Plummer, Ginny Helphinstine Reeves, and Stephanie Dailey for their countless hours of research, dedication, and hard work in bringing this project to life. We also extend our sincere appreciation to Lowell Tackett for sharing his photographic talents and helping capture the beauty of these historic landmarks.
