Over the next several weeks, we’ll be introducing you to the 2026 Leadership Horizons Class!

This week, meet Madison Hord!

Madison is the proud owner of Cafe Cream and Mylo’s, where she has spent nearly a decade building businesses focused on serving customers and bringing people together in the community.
A graduate of Mason County High School and the University of Kentucky, where she earned her bachelor’s degree, Madison is passionate about entrepreneurship and giving back to the community she calls home.
Outside of work, Madison enjoys golfing, playing pickleball, and staying actively involved in local organizations and volunteer opportunities, including the CASA volunteer program. She and her husband, Lyle, enjoy life on their farm with their three dogs.
In 2025, Madison was honored with the Best Small Business Award, an achievement she is especially proud of. She is grateful for the continued support of her community and looks forward to continuing to serve, grow, and give back for many years to come.

Congratulations to our 2025-2026 graduates! This years class took on a few new adventures. We enacted a leadership course component, added agritourism and a class project!

The 2025-2026 Leadership Horizons class project wrapped up this week! They were able to make donations to CASA, Ion Center and the Buffalo Trace Homeless Coalition! Thank you to everyone who donated and helped make this project a success!

We couldn’t have asked for better weather for our Agritourism Day!!! Thank you to the Loving Farm, Mt Lawley Farm, Springcreek Farm, Seleece’s Baking Co. LLC and the Mason County Extension Office for being part of our day!!!

This year's Leadership Horizons class is working to collect donations for different community partners. Please donate and share so they can help make a difference! Drop off locations are Stober, Peoples Bank of Kentucky and The Maysville Chamber office.

What an eye opening experience yesterday for our class! HUGE thank you to Mayor Cotterill and City Manager Matt Wallingford, MFD, MPD, Emergency Management Director Tony Leiss, the County Clerk’s Office, Kirk and the Circuit Clerk’s Office, Johnathan and everyone at the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office,
the CDW office, Specialty Court, Probation and Parole, and last but not least the Mason County Detention Center!! The group learned about the hard work all of these offices put in to make the government run and keep us all safe! We are so fortunate to have such dedicated people in our community!!

This week's introduction for Leadership Horizons Class of 2025-2026 is Rebecca Day!

Rebecca Day is the Lead Customer Service Representative at First State Bank in Maysville, where she takes pride in helping customers with their financial goals and supporting her team in providing excellent service. She looks forward to growing through Leadership Horizons to make a greater impact in her community. In her free time, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her family.

Our next Leadership Horizons Class of 2025-2026 participant is Emily Gray!

My name is Emily Gray. I am originally from Fleming County but moved to Maysville over 3 years ago. I live with my fiancée who I will marry in April and we have 2 cats.

I graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor’s Degree in social work and a micro-credential in forensic social work. I have 2 years of experience in crisis intervention with people of all ages and backgrounds and 3 years of experience as a Public Education Specialist at The Ion Center for Violence Prevention where I currently work. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to join this class of Leadership Horizons to help develop my leadership skills, to better serve my colleagues and community, and to continue to grow professionally.
