On this Veterans Day, MU Extension honors the service and sacrifice of all who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Their courage continues to shape our communities and our country.

MU Extension also recognizes the challenges many veterans face, from mental health to reintegration and rural living.

Through several programs, we proudly support veterans and their families with meaningful, practical resources:

Unfortunately, our local office will be closing due to lack of funds. MU DeKalb County Extension will still be a resource for our residents but will no longer have a store front in Maysville! There will be a close out sale of the office equipment, furnishings and items on Saturday from 10-3.

4H & Extension have proven strong leaders. Dekalb Counties own twin sisters, Kellie Bray & Kristie Bray Larson share how important 4-H and Deklab County Extension have been in their lives!
This is why we would appreciate your support by voting “YES” on Tuesday, April 8th so we can continue to develop and offer more programming in Dekalb County.

We are forever grateful to be alumni of the 4-H and youth extension programs. This benefited us as students as we competed in speaking events, held chapter offices, and met friends from across the state and the nation. The skills we learned through 4-H from ages 8-18 are skills we still use today.

Now, as I (Kellie) work with farmers all over the world, I see that America's extension system is truly the envy of the world. Having a system that can share new and innovative research and information to farmers and consumers in an accessible way for all is a real benefit that we should not take for granted.

I (Kristie) am proud to continue to volunteer with the Missouri 4-H Foundation. From planning the 75th anniversary gala in the fall of 2024 to judging scholarship applications for current high school 4-H members, I am proud to give back to an organization that has given so much to me and our family.

“The Old Farmer”, lifetime Dekalb County resident John Murphy shares his passion and experiences with our local MU DeKalb County Extension. From his time as a boy, to his own kids involvement in 4-H John has seen a lot of great programs provided to our residents. John currently serves on the DeKalb County Extension Board and talks about the importance of providing these same opportunities for our next generations!
