It's that time of the year again 🏀 Basketball season is officially starting for the Lady Royals on Monday, October 19th, which means tryouts! We will host tryouts for Freshman, JV, and Varsity teams on October 19th for any young lady not playing a fall sport. Tentatively, depending on soccer and volleyball district and region schedules, tryouts for fall sport athletes will be on October 26th. Both tryouts will be held at the Lady Royals Gym downtown from 4-6pm.

We are planning a ROYAL SEND-OFF for one of our own, an awesome young man who kicked cancer’s butt! We are so thankful for the news that Corey Newdigate (MCHS freshman) is in remission. On Tuesday, October 13th, we invite our teachers, staff, students, and community to join us on the top lot of Mason County High School as we help send off Corey and his family to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, where he will ring the bell, signifying the end of his cancer treatment. EVERYONE IS WELCOME!! Bring your signs, bring your noise makers, but most importantly, bring your positivity and energy for Corey! We can’t wait to see you next week.

Royal Market is tomorrow (Wednesday, October 7) at MCHS. If you are in need of a food box please give us a call at 606-564-5683! Boxes will be given out from 10am - Noon tomorrow. The only qualification is that you have a student enrolled Mason County School District. - no messages - please call!

🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️ It’s that time again! Swim Season is officially here! 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️

Swim season officially starts October 13, 2026! 🎉 I know that falls during Fall Break, so practice will not be mandatory that week.

Please make plans to join us for our informational meeting this Thursday! We’ll go over everything you need to know for the upcoming season.

I can’t wait to see all of our returning swimmers and, of course, all of the new faces joining the Mason County Royals! 💙🤍

This week is going to be AWESOME!!!!

All of our district's Smile Clubs are coming together for a project called "Your Name Matters." The goal is simple: every single Mason County student hears their name this week and feels a sense of pride.

We hope you'll talk with your child about their name and what makes it special. There's always a story behind a name. (Heck, my staff just learned this summer that my first name is Mark, thanks to a KDE update.)

We start at Straub on Tuesday and work our way up to the high school on Friday.

Then we'll wrap up the week at the Mason County vs. Harrison football game with our Mental Health Awareness Night and GEAR UP College Fair. Come at 5:30 to visit over 20 local mental health providers for fun/games and over a dozen colleges, then stick around for a great game.

It’s gonna be a great week. GO ROYALS!!!
