This photo was shared with us from a community member after seeing the updated signs. With their permission, we thought others might like to see a little history as well!! This photo was taken in 1965- the caption reads as follows:

“NEW SIGNS will greet those visiting or passing through Maysville by the FFA Chapter. Signs, pictured above, soon will be placed near all four highway entrances into town. Shown by the sign located on the north edge of Maysville are Bobby Bratcher, FFA President (left) and Lonnie Miller, Vice-President. Three other signs are being built and essembled in the FFA shop building.”

Finished up the welcome signs today!! Thank you to the Officer Team for working hard to give them a big makeover, they all look so much better. 💙💛

Officers spent some time this morning on the FFA Welcome Sign North of town, it was a much needed makeover!! The other signs will get the same update soon. Afterwards we enjoyed lunch at the Gathering House and made plans for the upcoming year. Overall a fun and productive day!! 💙💛

And that’s a wrap on the 100th Oklahoma State FFA Convention!! We had a grand time and had a great group representing our chapter. On multiple occasions our group was complimented on how respectful and courteous they were.

We would like to congratulate Jaci McGowen on earning the prestigious Oklahoma State FFA Degree. After many hard hours of work in the cattle industry, it paid off with earning our state organization’s highest honor. We have been blessed with your leadership and your love for all things FFA. Such a bright future ahead for you!! ☀️

We are coming close to finishing up another school year. We would like to thank our community for their support in all of our activities, we are lucky to be in such a wonderful community. 💙💛
