We are excited that The Township of Hamilton has joined Sustainable Jersey, and our SustainabiliTEAM is now a BRONZE Certified Municipality through Sustainable Jersey. (See more at: ht

tp://www.sustainablejersey.com) The certification with Sustainable Jersey that we are working towards is a prestigious designation for municipal governments in New Jersey. Municipalities that achieve the certification are considered by their peers, by the state government, and by the experts and civic organizations in New Jersey, to be among the leading municipalities. The certification is a rigorous and meaningful designation. All actions taken by municipalities to score points toward certification must be accompanied by documentary evidence and is reviewed. We are excited to be a part of this group, and look forward to working with other volunteers in our community to become certified! Our Township has made great strides in becoming more sustainable already. Please join us, and make a difference in our community by helping to make the Township of Hamilton even more sustainable!

Atlantic County Bikeway West Advanced Feasibility Study

SJTPO is working with Atlantic County and Consultants to evaluate further the feasibility of a 22-mile trail connecting the Camden County Link Trail to the Atlantic County Bikeway East. This project would expand Southern New Jersey’s trail network by creating a safe, continuous, off-road multi-use trail for residents and visitors.

At this stage, staff are seeking public input to help inform key elements of the proposed multi-use trail, including trailhead locations and amenities, connection points, and existing barriers.

In an effort to reach more residents, an online survey has been published, and will remain open through September 18, 2026.

Members of the Hamilton SustainabiliTEAM attended the Hometown Celebration in Memorial Park on June 27th to bring awareness to the new state “Skip the Stuff” law. Beginning in August, restaurants and other eateries with take-out food will not automatically give out plastic utensils and packaged condiments. These items will be available upon request. This is a great way to eliminate unnecessary trash and waste!
