Dear Fellow Scout Leader,
As you are aware, Jersey Shore Council is in the process of moving from our Clayton Service Center in Toms River to our new office at the Joseph A. Citta Scout Reservation. While we initially hoped to have the office open for business in early February, the weather has not been as cooperative as we could have hoped. Please know that renovation of the building is complete, and most of the furniture & fixtures are set up. Our plan is to have the building open to the public by no later than Monday March 9th. The hours will remain the same – Monday through Friday between 9:00 and 4:00 p.m.
Regarding our Toms River Office, please be advised Monday’s blizzard knocked out the power to the Clayton Service Center & it has not yet been restored. Complicating matters, a pipe burst in the office and there is water throughout the building. Toms River Township suggests that the remediation of the building could take months; as such the Clayton Service Center is closed until further notice. You can still call the main number at 732-349-1037; the number will be forwarded and someone will get back to you as soon as possible. We ask that you please don’t stop by the Toms River Office; no one will be there to receive you.
I apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support. Should you have any questions you may reach out to us at 732-349-1037 or via email at [email protected]
Yours in Scouting,
Jim Gillick
