Against the Wind Dragonboat Team Founded in 2001. Against the Wind is the BCS crew of Philadelphia Flying Phoenix. Membership is open to all breast cancer survivors. All are welcome.

Don't know about dragon boating, we will teach you. Under the Philadelphia Flying Phoenix umbrella is our breast cancer survivors team -- Against the Wind. Members of Against the Wind may also join in the recreational or competitive practices of Philadelphia Flying Phoenix. Team members who have survived breast cancer find this to be an extraordinary way to build their fitness level, exhibit their

strength and wellness, and share all of these benefits with newcomers, as we encourage and train them in this wonderful sport. It is also a truly profound way of providing hope and encouragement to all who have experienced this devastating diagnosis.

25 years and still winning never felt so good as this year! Against the Wind, a crew of Philadelphia Flying Phoenix Women's Dragon Boat Team is celebrating their 25th anniversary against insurmountable odds this weekend at Gilda’s Festival (down 3 paddlers) and with some of the original members, managed to win the GOLD medal by less than a second against 4 other breast cancer survivor crews! Stronger every race and every year!
