One of the biggest mindset shifts we can make is recognizing that behavior isn't fixed. 🌱

Your dog isn't the same dog they were at 6 months, 2 years, or 10 years old—and neither is their nervous system.

Behavior can change because of:
🩺 Pain or illness
🎂 Age and life stage
😴 Sleep quality
🏡 Environment
💛 Stress and resilience
🐾 Hormonal changes
👨‍👩‍👧 Changes in the household
🧠 Learning and life experiences

That means a dog who loved busy cafés last year might find them overwhelming today. A puppy who bounced back from everything may become more sensitive during adolescence. A senior dog may lose patience as arthritis develops.

These changes don't mean your dog is being stubborn, manipulative, or "forgetting" their training.

They mean something has changed.

Instead of asking, why is my dog suddenly doing this? try asking:
👉 What has changed that could explain this?

When we stop viewing behavior as a fixed personality trait and start seeing it as a reflection of biology, environment, and experience, we make better decisions for the dogs in front of us.

And that's where meaningful behavior change begins. 💚

It's okay for dogs to not engage with other dogs. Be aware of your dog's social tolerance and act accordingly.
