We need your help!
Dan Riverkeeper needs new testing equipment to keep pace with our ever-changing world.
Join us for a fundraising event with a modest goal of $300. Meet Steven, the Dan Riverkeeper, learn about our past and present work, play games, grab a beverage, or just hang out and enjoy the vibes.
Watershed activities will be available for all ages.
Donations will be accepted and all purchases at Basecamp will go toward the $300 goal. Get involved with your river health!
WHY:
Glycol (Ethylene and Propylene) is used to facilitate the cooling of hardware in industrial settings. Commonly used in automotive antifreeze, both types of Glycol can be dangerous to our water quality in cases of leaks or spills of high concentration. Ethylene Glycol poses a much greater threat of the two.
Our watershed is seeing a surge in large industrial facilities that utilize glycol for cooling.
Securing this test equipment now enables us to establish a baseline for Glycol presence in our streams and be prepared for any potential spills in the future.
