MABLE SWENext Club is a free engineering club for girls in grades 4 through 8, created by the Laura Schuler Cossette Charitable Fund in partnership with the Society of Women Engineers. Sponsored by Boston’s SWE chapter, the club offers workshops and mentorship from professional women engineers to inspire young female students in engineering fields.

The club welcomes students from Maynard, Acton, Boxborough, and Littleton and aims to introduce them to various engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, robotics, chemical, and packaging engineering. Events typically attract between 14 and 30 students.

MABLE SWENext Club was founded to honor the memory of Laura Schuler Cossette, a Maynard High School alumna who was passionate about women’s issues. Her charitable fund provides an annual scholarship to a female high school student pursuing STEM or engineering studies.

Those interested in joining can send an email with their name, age, grade, and guardian information to [email protected] for the 2025-2026 workshop mailing list.
