Is the end of aid good news for Africa?

In his Financial Times op-ed, Mo Ibrahim argues that shrinking aid budgets should push Africa to do something bigger: bet on itself.

His core message:

📢 Aid was never going to finance Africa’s future

📢 Strong governance is the real magnet for investment

📢 African capital must start backing African opportunities

🚰💧 Water in Schools: A Cornerstone for Education in Ethiopia 💧🚰

Hello, friends! Today, let’s shine a spotlight on something essential yet often overlooked—access to clean water in schools, especially in Ethiopia. It’s more than just a basic need; it’s a catalyst for change!

Here at BiftuSpark, we're passionate about making a real difference, and one way we're doing this is by focusing on the crucial role of water in educational settings. Clean water access doesn’t just quench thirst; it ensures safety, dignity, and opportunity. Particularly for young girls, having access to water and proper sanitation facilities at school is transformative. It means they can manage their health and continue learning without interruptions.

Thanks to initiatives like the One WaSH National Program, steps are being made toward providing schools with the necessary water infrastructures, including gender-separated toilets and facilities equipped for menstrual hygiene management. This effort is vital because it leads to better attendance and educational outcomes for girls, helping to break cycles of poverty and inequality.

🌍 Why focus on this? Because education is a right, not a privilege. Clean water in schools means healthier kids, more education for girls, and a brighter future for all. But change can't happen without support.

📢 Let’s start a conversation! Can you imagine a day at school without water? No? Then join us in making sure no child has to. Every drop counts when it comes to nurturing the seeds of education.

👉

Please share this message, consider donating to our clean water projects, and help us ensure that schools in Ethiopia are equipped to give every student the chance to thrive. Together, we can create waves of positive change! 💪🌊
