Students work to receive volunteer hours at YARN

10/17/2026

Our YARN volunteers showed out today! Isiah and Nicole, completed our pavilion paint project, many other volunteers worked on creating beautiful flower beds, completed planting the fall garden, and the students raked so many leaves, they will probably dream leaves tonight. Jeff Titus worked with students on creating the beautiful flower beds and we must mention a special thank you to Gary Logan and Sheriff, John Randall for a delicious catfish dinner for lunch!
Too many volunteers to list them all by name, but thanks to each and everyone of you. Oh, but I must say Genesis and the chickens oh my! That’s a book I need to write 😁

A special shout out and thank you to Kaleb for his extraordinary skills to make the chickens happy! Kaleb participates in the YARN tutoring program weekly, and he is always willing to help. When our tutoring manager ended her SCSEP program, we ask Kaleb would he consider helping at the YARN Uncle Odus Collins Garden, to feed the chickens, and he graciously accepted the offer.
KUDOS to Kaleb!
As we are planning the YARN Annual Awards Luncheon, March 13, 2027, We will highlight some of our awesome students from time to time!
Stay tuned and Save the date!
