Following the recent community vote on the 2026 Teej program, we wish to inform you that the majority has voted in favor of cancellation.
In respect for the immense loss and ongoing grief caused by the devastating floods in Nepal, the Teej event originally scheduled for September 12, 2026, has been canceled.

We sincerely thank all community members who participated in the voting process and expressed their views with thoughtfulness and care. This decision reflects our collective respect and solidarity with those affected by the tragedy.

The BCGC Committee remains committed to supporting relief efforts for the flood victims. We will continue to share updates on alternative channels for donations, support, and community solidarity in the coming days.

🌟 We came together to honor and support the victims of the devastating floods in Nepal that occurred on August 26, 2026. During our Vigil for Flood Victims, we lit candles, offered prayers, and reflected on the power of compassion and unity.

The candles we lit represented three key themes: First, they served as a light of remembrance for the souls we lost. Second, they embodied the warmth of our solidarity, demonstrating that those suffering are not forgotten or alone. Finally, they symbolized hope; even in the darkest moments, a single flame can pierce through the shadows.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated and contributed to this solemn event. Your presence and solidarity illuminated our commitment to stand with the Nepali community during this time of need.

As you may know, on August 26, 2026, a devastating flood swept through Lhende, Bhotekoshi, and the Trisuli River, resulting in significant loss of life and property in Nepal. In solidarity with the Nepali community and the broader diaspora worldwide, the Bhutanese community in Greater Cleveland mourns this tragic loss.
In response to this disaster, we invite you to join us for a Candlelight Vigil to honor and remember those who tragically lost their lives and to offer prayers for everyone affected.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Simon Rai, who was born on March 10, 2016, and peacefully passed away on July 14, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
Simon was the beloved son of Jagat Bahadur Rai and Pabi Maya Rai, and a cherished brother to Bishnu Maya Rai, Babita Rai, Beenita Rai, and Biswas Rai. Though his life was far too short, he touched the hearts of everyone who knew him and will be forever remembered with love.

Dear Kafley Family,
We the Bhutanese community of Greater Cleveland extend our heartfelt condolences to you during this time of profound loss. The passing of Bina Maya Kafley on June 23, 2026, has left a significant void in our community and in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Bina Maya’s journey began in Bhutan,
Block : kikorthang ,Village: Bokrey and
District: Chirang ,where she was born on January 1, 1938, to Kul Bahadur Basnet and Hari Maya Basnet. Her dedication as a farmer shaped not only her own life but also the lives of many around her. In May 1992, she demonstrated incredible resilience by relocating to Nepal, where she established her home at Pathari Sanischare. Later in June 2016, she embarked on a new chapter in the United States, settling in Cleveland, Ohio, where she continued to share her warmth and compassion with those who crossed her path.
Bina Maya’s legacy lives on through her loving Husband Partiman Kafley and childrens :-

2. Man Bahadur Kafley(Bhutan)
Daughters:
1. Kamala Kafley (Cleveland Ohio)
2. Renuka Chhetri( columbus Ohio)

We, the Bhutanese community of Greater Cleveland, are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of the honorable Har Govind Singh Pradhan on May 20, 2026. His departure leaves a profound void in our hearts, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to each member of your family during this difficult time.

Har Govind Singh Pradhan, a devoted husband to Kamala Pradhan and a cherished father and father in-law to Vijaya Pradhan + Ujjal Pradhan, Ajaya Pradhan, Sanjaya Pradhan + Sadia Libang Pradhan and Madhavi Mona Pradhan, stood as a beacon of wisdom and justice.

He was a respected Justice of the Supreme Court of Nepal and played a pivotal role in the translation of Nepal’s Constitution, contributing significantly to the welfare of countless individuals in Nepal through his unwavering commitment to justice and generosity.
His legacy continues through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who carry forward the values he instilled in them.

We hope that the beautiful memories you shared with him will provide comfort and strength as you navigate this profound loss. please accept our heartfelt condolences during this difficult time.
May your father's legacy of justice, kindness, and compassion continue to inspire and guide us all.
