As people of faith, we believe in the sacred dignity of every human life and the call to pursue justice with truth, compassion, and mercy.

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey said she was commuting Toforest Johnson's death sentence to life in prison without parole.

🌿 Happy Feast of St. Ursula! 🌿

Today, we celebrate St. Ursula, the patron saint who inspired St. Angela Merici to found the Company of St. Ursula in 1535—a movement of women rooted in faith, courage, and a deep love for God and others.

As Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland, we give thanks for the legacy of St. Angela and the generations of Ursuline women who have carried this spirit forward through education, service, compassion, and a commitment to the dignity of every person.

May the example of St. Ursula and the vision of St. Angela continue to inspire us to be women of courage, hope, and faith—responding to the needs of our world with open hearts and generous spirits.

The third session of LCWR's "100 Days of Prayer, Fasting & Advocacy" will be 100 Days ahead of the US National Elections: July 26, 2026 thru November 3, 2026.
Many of us experience the desire to respond to ever-increasing division with a call to love with hearts of contemplation and action. We believe that prayer matters. We know that prayer leads us to respond to the needs of the people of God. For generations, we have fasted from what distracts us from keeping God as our center point.

Fast – Refrain from inflammatory rhetoric concerning individuals during this chaotic election season, even as we courageously speak out about the issues of injustice our country is facing;
Almsgiving – Give a little extra time to being informed about the issues of our times so that we can continue to be Prophetic Witnesses, using our voices and actions to proclaim the truths of Catholic Social Teaching. Letters to the editor are one way to be prophetic, as well as our ongoing efforts to speak and write against the OHIO death penalty.

The Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland has the following part-time job openings at its Pepper Pike motherhouse facility.

Baker
Enjoy baking? We are looking for a PT Baker (10 – 12 hours per week) preparing fresh baked goods for residents and guests of the Ursuline Sisters motherhouse community. If you enjoy baking and have previous baking experience, this jobs for you! No professional experience required!! Flexible work hours.

Dish-Utility
Part-time dishwasher position (12 - 15 hours per week: 2 afternoons each week from 4pm – 7:30pm & alternating weekends 9am – 2pm) doing dishes and light cleaning in the motherhouse’s Community Kitchen. Potential for more hours some weeks.

Must be responsible and have reliable transportation. We are not on the bus line. Friendly working environment. Students/retirees are encouraged to apply. Must be able to pass a physical, drug screen and criminal background check. EOE
